better song than the first one

I preferred the first song actually. :o

*sigh*

Can't please everybody I suppose.

I didn't want to completely admit defeat and change my entry altogether, but I can see this one doing better, even though I prefer "Right Now" personally :(

Hopefully this can sneak into the final

Herzebania is celebrating after reaching 10th position with Jeanette's "Hold The Line."

HbTV has also confirmed its participation the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, and that an internal selection will take place again to select the artist.

It is rumoured that the performer has already been selected prior to Jeanette's appearance in BJSC7, and is a former Buzzjack Song Contest performer!

More to come...

Johnson & Haggkvist for BJSC8?

It has been published today in Herzebania that Andreas Johnson and Carola Haggkvist are on the verge of signing on the dotted line to represent Herzebania in the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, whose location is yet to be confirmed.

If this is true, it will mean a return to the competition for Andreas Johnson, who previously finished 8th for FSR Rontvia with "Glorious," and a long overdue Contest debut for Carola, who has already taken the Eurovision Song Contest by storm.

No word on what song the duo will be singing yet, but there should be an official confirmation soon...

HbTV Confirm Act for FSR Rontvia

The head of the Herzebanian delegation confirmed today that Johnson & Haggkvist will be representing the country at the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest.

"We are delighted these two very talented performers agree to represent us," said Peter Petersonn this morning. "Andreas has a good history with the Contest, and we hope that having Carola, who is already popular in many Buzzjack territories, will bring us twice the success!"

Andreas Johnson commented this morning "I'm looking forward to returning to the competition."

"Yes, and I am also greatly excited about performing on this wonderful stage at this amazing contest," said his partner Carola, "and honoured to be able to bring love to all my fans and all fans of the competition with my music, and I hope that everybody across all the nations will be able to feel the love we bring with our song."

When asked about the song that they will be performing, an unusually subdued Andreas told us, "we haven't quite decided yet."

Carola followed up, "but whatever we choose, it will be uplifting, inspiring, and will bring joy to all those who listen to it, and we just can't wait to travel around the Buzzjack world and perform to many different nationalities and walks of life, reaching out our hands to all people, until we arrive in wonderful FSR Rontville for the finals. It will truelly be an amazing experience."

Details of a promotional tour are being finalised, and many papers this morning are speculating on the song the duo will perform, the most likely choice being their latest single, "Lucky Star" as seen below.

Lucky Star for Constarvan?

Carola and Andreas premiered their single "Lucky Star" at an awards ceremony in Herzebania last night. In a brief interview with the couple after the show, Carola revealed, "Yes, it probably will be the song we sing. I love it and it is such a beautiful song, so we will be singing it in FSR Rontvania."

Andreas commented, "well it isn't completely certain yet, we still need to discuss all the options."

"I know that," followed Carola, "but it probably will be Lucky Star"

"Well that's no guarantee," Andreas told us. "We'll keep you posted."

"And I would like to say thank you for all the love everybody has given us since we announced we would be competing in this wonderful competition," said Carola.

Tension Between Johnson & Haggkvist?

Rumours are flying today that Herzebanian representatives Andreas Johnson and Carola Haggkvist are at loggerheads, and have been arguing over publicity and song choices.

The pair were spotted yesterday emerging from their record company's offices after a meeting, with Carola and Andreas shouting furiously at each other, and Haggkvist pulling him by the tie into their car.

Sources close to the stars say that these incidents are merely the tip of the ice-berg, with one collegue saying that "there have been bust-ups over aspects as trivial as the order in which their names go on the songwriting credits to the lighting in the stage act."

"Then there is the issue of the song. Carola is determined that the latest single, 'Lucky Star' (shown below) is used as their entry, but Andreas is not keen on it; he doesn't consider it one of his better compositions and he would much rather compose a new song or use a cover version."

"Most of the team behind them are backing Carola's choice, but alot of people here are scared of her, which could explain why."

"The arguments are getting worse," our source told us. "These are two very big egos we are dealing with you have to remember, each seems to think they deserve to be in the competition more than the other."

More on this story as it develops.

Andreas Hints at Song for FSR Rontvia

Andreas Johnson, one half of the duo Johnson and Haggkvist, Herzebania's entry for the Buzzjack Song Contest, was appearing on HbTV today, and gave a few comments on the songs that are being considered.

"It has been reported quite a bit that we will be performing 'Lucky Star' at the competition, but I don't think this will be the case," the singer told HbTV presenter Paul O'Gurdle. "We've both agreed that it wouldn't be the best option. We will be singing a cover version, I think that will be alot of fun."

Exact details were thin on the ground, although Johnson suggested "perhaps 'What if God Was One of Us' or 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)' - those are two of my favourites, and I know Carola has some ideas as well, but it will probably be one of those two."

The duo are appearing on Herzebanian television show Late Night with Jools Herzland tonight, where they will be performing a series of songs.

"I think it will help us and the public to judge what the best song would be. Make sure you tune in!"

Carola hits out at Andreas

There appears to be more trouble in the Johnson & Haggkvist camp, as was revealed by a leading gossip column this morning.

The duo, representing Herzebania, appeared on 'Late Night With Jools Herzland' last night, where they performed a selection of songs, including 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)' and 'What If God Was One of Us' but with the notable absence of latest single 'Lucky Star'

"Who does he think he is?!" Carola was overheard saying in response to an interview in which Andreas dismissed the chance of 'Lucky Star' being the choice of song.

"I can't believe he has the cheek to go behind my back and do that interview! He looked so stupid - does he not realise I'm carrying this act? He is living in the past - I'm the future of this stupid contest, I think I know what kind of song will do well."

Andreas Johnson also expressed a desire to perform 'Pride (In the Name of Love)' at the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, one of the songs the duo performed on the show (0.54 on the video), to which his partner scoffed, "If he thinks we are going to go onstage with a performance like that he has another thing coming! He made such a mockery of that song, I was so humiliated. We are going to need to have serious words."

Johnson & Haggkvist Hold Press Conference

Herzebania's representatives Johnson and Haggkvist, along with their manager Erik Erikson, held a press conference earlier today in response to alleged comments from both of them appearing in the press in recent days.

"Various stories have been circulating in the media recently regarding supposed tension among the act," Erikson commented, "and we would like to say that this could not be further from the truth and to put straight any rumours that have surfaced. I'm sure you will all agree that we have two very talented singers here, who are seasoned professionals, and we are very lucky to have two performers who get on so well together and are such a compatible team. We look forward to going to FSR Rontvia to show them what we're made of."

Andreas followed this by stating, "we hope our fans will look past what has been written about us and see for themselves how well we get on with each other, how much we love what we do, and how excited we are about representing this country together."

"I think what Andreas is trying to say," Carola then said, "is that we hope that our fans will ignore what has been written about us and see for themselves how well we get on with each other, how we love what we do, and how excited we are about representing this wonderful country together. I would also like to extend the friendship that Andreas and I share to all of my fans in Herzebania, and throughout the Buzzjack world, especially in FSR Rentvia, where we cannot wait to spread our music and our love to all."

After a short pause, one journalist asked if there was any progress on the decision of what song the duo would be singing, to which Erikson quickly answered, "we are still discussing it, but it is very much a team effort, and we will have a song soon that everybody is happy with, and all the fans of the duo and of the Contest will love."

"Also, I think what I said a few days back about songs should be taken with a pinch of salt," said Andreas, "and I shouldn't have given anything away!"

"No he shouldn't have," said Carola, "and Andreas would very much to apologise to any fans that he may have misled."

The press conference was quickly rounded off after the duo sang a short clip of their Melodifestivalen song, "One Love."

Carola to go it alone in BJSC8

After last night's shock revelation that Johnson and Haggkvist have split up and will not be representing Herzebania in the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, Carola, one half of the duo has said she will be participating anyway.

"I don't need him," Haggkvist told us this morning, "and I think it is hilarious that he thinks this whole thing will just break down without him. Who is he kidding. Everybody could see he was just a spare part anyway. He may have the experience of the Contest, but I have the talent, so his big ego will not be in the way of this wonderful country triumphing in FSR Rutven."

No official word of what song Carola will be singing yet, but she did say that "it will be big. You'll see. I'm bigger alone than I could be with him holding me back."

Some insiders are contemplating the possibility of this being her song :P

Carola Carries Herself With Pride

After last night's shock revelation of Herzebanian act Johnson & Haggkvist splitting up and in a final twist to the saga, Carola Haggkvist has finally confirmed that the song she will be performing in FSR Rontvia will be U2's "Pride (In The Name of Love)" a song that partner Andreas Johnson had originally wanted the duo to sing.

"Well it looks like he finally got his way," said Carola prior to her performance tonight. "I'm doing the song he wanted to do, however badly he performed it when we were together. I'm going to show him and everybody else how it should be done."

Well she said it was going to be big; here, finally, is Herzebania's 3rd entry for the Buzzjack Song Contest:

The End Of The Road for Carola

After a humiliating result for Carola Haggkvist in the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, in which she failed to qualify and was seen by onlookers to be having what seemed like a nervous breakdown, the singer flew home from Rontvia this morning, but not before giving a special concert two nights before the final.

In one song, she was joined by former singing partner Andreas Johnson, looking like all is forgiven between the pair.

Herzebania's Selection for BJSC9

It's time for Herzebania to choose their 4th entry for the Buzzjack Song Contest, and this time they are in it to win it! And your help is needed to choose the entry for BJSC9 in Nonsuch, in the first ever Herzefest!

Each day for the next week, one of the potential artists will showcase three songs, and I want to hear what you think of them! How the artist would be as an entry, and which song would be the best. As usual, the final decision will lie with me, but Herzebanian TV would very much like to hear what other countries think of the songs, and your opinions will play a major role in the selection of songs for the resulting national final, and of course the eventual winner.

The first artist will be revealed tomorrow, along with three of their songs. Stay tuned in this thread in the coming days!

Nobody got any thoughts on these? :(

my thoughts

Getaway - The most subtle of the three songs...I like the production on this

I'm Gonna Fly - good, I like this one

Diva - too camp, even for me, not a fan of this really

I'd personally go for Getaway, followed by I'm Gonna Fly :D
