'Lejla' most beautiful song

Željko Joksimović, the composer of the third placed Bosnia and Herzegovina entry Lejla has received the journalists' award for the best composition of the 2006 Eurovision song contest.

Although delighted at receiving his award, Željko told Republika that he didn't understand how Finland could have won. The 2004 contest runner-up said: "I'm sorry, but I just don't understand it." Despite the fact that he only turned 34 on 20th April, he said that "perhaps I am a little too old for such things. I think that this time music has lost its aesthetic quality. I am satisfied with our brilliant placing - bronze, however I am sorry that yet again I didn't manage to be first. I don't think I shall be entering the Eurovision song contest again in the near future, either as a singer or as a composer." Željko added that he would be concentrating on his career from now on, particularly abroad.

Pathetic - they would have probably come 4th or 5th if it wasn't for their neighbours he should be ecstatic with third!
I liked Zeljko's "Lane Moje" in 2004 very much. This year's entry sounded much like the original, so I was not very impressed by it.

Yeah S&M's 2004 entry was far superior to B-H's this year. They are similar though.

If Hari Mata Hari is as talented as everyone says he is then he should have written his own song...

The day that a song like Leila or Lane Moje comes first in the contest is the day when I tear my ears off...I was so scared that Ruslana would actually be beaten in 2004 by that thing...

I wanted S&M to win that year :( I wasn't too keen on Ruslana and it would have been quite an achievement for Serbia & Montenegro to win in their first ever contest!

It was great for Ukraine though, it was only their second.

I always thought Ruslana would win from the second I heard Wild Dances!!! I never even expected Serbia-Montenegro to come in the top 10 to be honest...

I didn't think much of the songs at all that year, so didn't pay a great deal of attention. I thought the countries competing for the win though would be Belgium, Sweden, Serbia & Montenegro, Greece and Cyprus. Wasn't really expecting Ukraine tbh, though they were one of the faves weren't they?

I totally agree. I was actually a little worried that this c**p would win, I was hoping it would

totally flop even thou it was one of the few songs that I knew would certainly finish high. It seems

that you get every year at least one horrendous dullfest of a ethnic ballad from the Eastern Europe.

It's always about the neighbours! I never vote so I'm not responsible

I liked Lejla very much! You can't judge someone by the one and only song you'd ever heard from him
