Thank you. They are stunning pics, although I think Edward isn't as good looking as Ashley as he is on the rehearsal videos. He looks older.

I'm actually uncertain what age Ashley is in the book. Because he was played by an older actor (Leslie Howard) in the film, I thought he might be about 8 to 10 years older than Scarlett and she has adored him since she was very young.

Sorry I have to bring the D ones over here or I'd be going back and forth between here and page 13.

As I said, I don't know.

I just think that scenario could produce the deep deep infatuation which over the years would make Ashley a God-like figure as she fantasised more and more about him.

I ended up feeling he was a creep in the play. In the book, I just thought he was a weak selfish man.
I was puzzled for an instant. I thought you were talking about Rhett at first until I read the second sentence.
my daughter reckons he looks like the autopsy man I cant spell or pronounce his name!- but then again she keeps on about Darius being Borat!!!

Take her straight to a good optician.

To me the close up pic has a similar feel to some I've seen of Johnny Depp. I'm not suggesting they look anything alike but there's just something about it.

I agree with you about Ashley Meg.

Another thing about the play is Melanie isn't portrayed as much as the sweet character she is in the film, which makes Rhett's statement about her being the one person he knew to be truly kind seem somewhat out of the blue. It was for me anyway.

A thought has just occurred to me about them cutting some of D's 2nd half performance. Do you think it may be because he is overshadowing Scarlett in this half and they want to balance it a little, as it is supposed to be her story after all, what do you think?

You have taken the words out of my mouth B.P that was exactly what I was thinking when Meg said they had cut some Darius bits. As soon as I saw the posts etc about him having great stage presence etc it crossed my mind right away that they may dub him down.Maybe Jill paices' agent isnt happy but remember she is not well known in this country just as D is not well known in the States. However I hope they are not going to continue along these lines as he is making the impact on the show which women will appreciate!!!.

In the first preview, for me the second half was Darius with Jill being a very good essential part of it. I hope they put some of that back.

They could always give him a new song and more dialogue in the first act. I'm sure he could knock up a little song for himself with Margaret Martin and Gareth Valentine in a day.

Darius in riding costume singing something very manly. I'd like to see the "horse" carrying him!
They could always have a little reunion instead - Darius and Rodriguez from Live Twice. Wouldn't that be a sight to see in the new London?

As long as he didn't try and kick him again. There's also the problem that he was just too small
