Posted April 28, 200817 yr Amy's Bond Doubt Ronson fears for Winehouse's theme BBC RADIO6 MUSIC NEWS 28 April 2008 - Mark Ronson has confirmed to 6 Music that he has been in the studio working with Amy Winehouse on a theme song for the new James Bond film. Speaking to the Music Week show from backstage at the Coachella festival in California the producer revealed the track is nearly complete. However, he expressed his doubts over whether the song will actually end up on the soundtrack to the movie. He said: "Hopefully if they like it, it will get used. But I don’t think we’ve been guaranteed it, so we’re working on it and we’ll see happens. “They asked Amy, and I think Amy said that if she did it, she'd want to do it with me. So hopefully something will come of it. "The demo sounds like something that sounds like a James Bond theme hopefully. But I don’t know if it'll get used." He went on: “I’m sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we’re competing with and we don’t know about. “I’m not sure, but hopefully I’ll still be alive for at least 12 more Bond themes. If we don’t get this one maybe we’ll get another one.” Ronson went on to confirm that he and Winehouse have been recording material for the troubled singer's third album: "We spent a week together. Hopefully something will come of it. She comes down to my room, plays guitar, plays some songs and I try to sort them out into something." Would you like Amy to record the Bond theme or not?

I think this is all off now. A few other names were touted round as being involved in the next theme (as far as I can remember - Leona was mentioned at one time). Got to be honest and say that with the exception of Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die and For Your Eyes Only - most Bond songs have been (imo I hasten to add) - not very good. So in a way - I'm glad Amy's out of it - even though I think anything by her would be right up there with the four I mentioned. Norma
May 4, 200817 yr Shame really. If she didn't Ronson for this project, and got behind some BIG producers to come up with a sort of Tina Turner/Shirley Bassy type theme, then I reckon it would of been great!
May 4, 200817 yr This would have been absolutely perfect for the Bond theme tune, but it's not going to go ahead now. Which is a shame, as I really do think the finished project would have been brilliant, but as Ronson's come out and said, she really needs to sort herself out first.
May 6, 200817 yr I think it would be better if she at least recorded something and showed them, rather than be in murky water. This could be a real career boost for Amy and could see her sales rise, and even possible an incentive for Amy to change her ways ^_^ Bear in mind she will have become one of the few that have performed the Bond theme tune!
