I'm just happy that Will is happy to be performing at a festival that he's always loved and goes to, it's yet another one of his ambitions fulfilled.

I know there's not many left now TT, personally I'm not too bothered about the Cabaret show, I never liked the film or the songs.

Thanks for bringing it over munchkin. I see they've got the full list on my server's home page. Never realised there were so many stages at Glasto.

I've been googling the other acts - all very folky/salsa type bands - sounds like a good line-up. Reckon Will will fit in just nicely.

ALABAMA 3 ACOUSTIC & UNPLUGGED

Featuring acoustic stripped down versions of Alabama 3’s songs, the lineup is Larry Love (vocals) Devlin Love (vocals) Rock Freebase (guitar) and Harpo Strangelove (harmonica).

“The ghost of Mississippi Fred McDowell haunting the fingers of Rock Freebase on guitar, Larry Love’s larynx looser than Howlin’ Wolf. Devlin Love’s vocals as sweet as Sister Rosetta and Harpo Strangelove’s harmonica cooking up a Sonny Terry vibe - welcome to the Delta Blues alive and kicking in 2008”

The Handsome Family

Brett Sparks, who writes the music, draws from medieval melody, country-politan string arrangements, tin-pan alley crooners, and dusty hillbilly records to weave together the fabric of this record. Rennie Sparks, who writes the lyrics, makes magical realism from polar adventure stories, pagan hunting songs and her own time spent (like most people) riding up elevators, staring out hotel room windows, and driving interstate highways. The entire album was recorded over a year's time in the converted garage studio at the back of the Sparks' Albuquerque house. Brett recorded it all on a Mac and a whole mess of wires, microphones and little metal boxes. Alongside the usual guitar, bass and drums you will hear mellotrons, ukulele, banjo, bowed wine glasses, and trombone.

Rachel Uthank

Intimate, epic, overflowing with feeling and musical intelligence’ THE INDEPENDENT “ the only new folk combo with a traditions-favouring spirit who would sound equally at home performing with Waterson:Carthy as they would Joanna Newsom” TIME OUT, LONDON “music as tough as it is gentle, as ancient as it is modern, and as coldly desolate as it is achingly intimate.. joyous, virtuous and luscious un-folk - ancient melodies, graphic atmospheres and everyday concerns radically transformed by bloody-minded and discriminating modern sensibilities” PAUL MORLEY, THE OBSERVER

Bacalao

Brighton is proud of its cultural diversity, you can find pretty much anything going on. Musically it's all happening- rock, pop, jazz, country, flamenco, ska, samba etc. So with the wealth of talent buzzing around if you had the inclination to form a salsa band you would think that it would be easy- Wrong! Yeah ok, get together with a bunch of friends who own various instruments and muck about playing Latino style music, great fun- it's a hobby!

Malarchy

Malarchy rip the wedding band rulebook to shreds, bringing Klezmer, Romani, Balkan, and Jazz styles to a never-ending celebration. This passionate, intricate, fast, and extremely danceable world quintet tear through the musical traditions of Europe as if it were the last night on Earth. Welcome to the party !

One String Loose

Since 2003, Welsh Folk-fusion band One String Loose have been exciting audiences around the UK and Europe with their complex, dynamic arrangements of traditional and self penned tunes, performed with jaw-dropping virtuosity and infectious joie de vivre. Their innovative style of folk – fusion has been captivating all manner of people: fellow musicians, casual listeners, purists, grandmothers, teenagers, small random children …Front man, fiddler and banjo renaissance man Scott has a natural, self-depreciating humour which creates that relaxed, inclusive atmosphere that is the hallmark of any really great live band, and the rapport between Scott and fellow band mates Jack Stewart, Joe Brady, and Baz Barwick draw the audience further into the weird and wonderful world of One String Loose: a world of pineapple shops, moose and hypnotic cheese

The Worzels and Proclaimers we know. Sounds like a great feel-good line-up. Will could do bluesy/jazzy or upbeat poppy/funky songs - he'd fit in well with whatever he does.

Thanks munchkin. As you say Will is such a versatile performer he'd fit in anywhere. :D

I know there's not many left now TT, personally I'm not too bothered about the Cabaret show, I never liked the film or the songs.

Heaven forbid that Cabaret show. I can't stand Lisa Minnelli or her mother either. :arrr:

Thanks to sanellen on Devoted.
