June 29, 200817 yr I have had a look at the footage I recorded yesterday and found his brilliant interview with Edith and somebody I don't recognise. Who was he? He was a good interviewer. I though Will looked and sounded delightful and so happy. It was Zane Lowe, he's great :cheer: :cheer: Loved the interview, he was hilarious as usual  and Will loves John Mayer :o :o I love John Mayer
June 29, 200817 yr I have heard of Zane Lowe but never seen him before. I thought he was great and he and Edith struck just the right balance. Will is so random with his remarks that the interviewers have to be on the ball to keep up with him. Remember the car-crash TV that was Geri Halliwell at the Prince's Trust?

June 29, 200817 yr Thanks for the reviews & pics. :) :D Looks like he's already changing perceptions. Will looked so happy at the reception he received :D :D He's more than earned his place at these festivals. I think he'll take to one of the main stages next, but then again maybe not. He'd but out of place as he can actually sing in tune. ;)
June 29, 200817 yr So delighted about how it went last night :cheer: i have listed to LIG a couple of times [so love it] and have now deleted it  i am going to resist temptation from now on i want the album to be shiny and new when it is released  [did the same with KO] the only time i will listen to the songs is at chiswick...and then cold turkey until september :drama: :D
June 29, 200817 yr Author I'm hoping it's not too far removed from the stripped back R2 version - but fully expect the songs to sound lush - as always.

I so wish I'd got a ticket for Chiswick, yesterday just reinforced how fantastic it's likely to be listening to the new stuff in person.. :(
June 29, 200817 yr Thanks to IscaGill for posting, Not a bad review considering it's from the Guardian, so I'm happy with that :D and there's no denying his superb voice is there? so the reviewer not being keen on his songs is only his opinion. http://music.guardian.co.uk/glastonbury200...2288095,00.html Glastonbury 2008 review: Will Young Will manages to beguile the sizeable crowd in the Green fields with immaculate pipes and a winning stage presence Read more Glasto 2008 live reviews Alex Needham Saturday June 28, 2008 guardian.co.uk Where and when: Avalon stage, Saturday 6.30pm Dress code: Master Young is dressed down in white T-shirt, jeans and trilby. In a nutshell: Will Young at Glastonbury? The Pop Idol winner would seem to be the antithesis of everything the festival is about. But with James Blunt going down a storm on the Pyramid Stage, all bets are off. And Will manages to beguile the sizeable crowd in the Green fields with immaculate pipes, a winning stage presence (like the similarly silky David Cameron, he could be an advert for going to private school) and one truly great song, the closer Leave Right Now, which inspires a mass singalong. Other than that, his set drifts into the realms of coffee-table blandness, though a beautifully sung cover of Joni Mitchell's Help Me is an inspired choice. Article continues Who's watching: A much more appreciative audience than you might expect, including a man in a fur coat who's invited onstage to swap hats. High point: Leave Right Now, particularly the perfect Englishness of the line "But if I lose the highs, at least I'm spared the lows". Blub! Low point: Too many other songs faded to beige. Mark out of 10: 6 What does it all mean, mean?: That Glastonbury's booking policy is distinctly liberal - but also that Will Young has a great voice, and that it sounds agreeable echoing across the Avalon field. June 29, 200817 yr The Sun WILL YOUNG WATCHING an immaculate and professional WILL YOUNG perform to hoards of cheering fans brought out a strange sense of pride. He is the people's popstar and it's hard to remember he was the last auditionee on Pop Idol who almost didn't get through because of a stain on his t-shirt which SIMON COWELL equated to him not caring about the competition. The reality TV winner was delighted to be playing on the Avalon stage, saying: "It only took me six and a half years." Squeaky clean Will didn't try to impress, by honestly admitting: "I've been very well behaved. "I saw KINGS OF LEON last night and then went to bed." Will performed new song Changes with a big grin and a lot of soul, more than can be said for his rival chart-toppers Love the highlighted quote :cheer:
June 29, 200817 yr You beat me to it with the Sun review sunday. :) Another good one. I think the paper will be very supportive of Will's new material. Loved this bit. WATCHING an immaculate and professional WILL YOUNG perform to hoards of cheering fans brought out a strange sense of pride. I can think of a few artists that had much higher profile spot than Will that were anything but.
