37 (21) 168 Final Green Day - Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/36/Green_Day_-_Boulevard_of_Broken_Dreams_-_CD_single_cover.jpg

"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is the Grammy Award winning fourth track from Green Day's seventh studio album, American Idiot. The song was written by Green Day, with lyrics by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and was co-produced by Green Day and Rob Cavallo. It was released as the album's second single on November 29, 2004; the single peaked at number two in the United States. It also went Top 5 in most countries around the world.

Controversially "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" was named Record of the Year at the Grammy Awards of 2006. Not least because the riff and chord sequence of the song are the same to that of Oasis' "Wonderwall". Noel Gallagher lashed out at Green Day in late 2006, saying, "They should have the decency to wait until I am dead [before stealing my songs]. I, at least, pay the people I steal from that courtesy." Green Day have since settled out of court in 2007.

This song was covered by top Japanese pop singer Utada Hikaru acoustically with a guitar during an internet broadcast in December 2005.
