Leave us alone

A TUG-OF-LOVE for Delta Goodrem has erupted between her mother and boyfriend Brian McFadden.

Lea Goodrem, also her daughter's manager, and a team of advisers, have told Delta to ditch McFadden because he is ruining her career.

But, in an angry letter to Team Delta, sighted by The Sunday Telegraph, McFadden warned his detractors to back off.

A fired up McFadden said: "You don't know anything about my career or future.

"Delta is an intelligent, talented woman who is making decisions by herself.

"Be choice with your words in the future."

McFadden accuses his rivals of having "little knowledge of the music industry on a global scale."

Goodrem, 21, and McFadden, 26, are still smitten as they parade the world on a seemingly endless holiday.

Last week, they were in the Bahamas, then London.

But, behind the scenes, Lea Goodrem has warned Delta that McFadden has stalled her rise to the top.

"Lose him," Lea Goodrem has told her daughter. "He is holding you back."

Sources close to Goodrem say influential US music figures agree with Lea's judgment.

McFadden wants pop princess Goodrem to sign to his management group. But Team Delta is strongly opposed.

McFadden is also in divorce court hell, fighting for custody of his two children with Atomic Kitten star, Kerry Katona.

A merger at Goodrem's record company Sony BMG, and delays at releasing her album in the US, have affected her career momentum.

"It was frustrating, I couldn't afford to keep living in America and not have the album out," she said last month.

"A lot of people just spend all their time there, but it's going to take time. It's a big place."

Insiders say Lea's private dislike of McFadden has not strained her relationship with Delta.

But advisers have urged Lea to show the same mother-knows-best resolve with the next phase of Delta's career.

Delta Goodrem has described mother, Lea, as her rock of support.

Goodrem and McFadden met in 2004 to record a duet for her album Mistaken Identity.

They were outed as a couple soon after.

Last year, they relocated to New York.

It must be quite true if so many places have picked up on it and Lea would know what he's doing to her...

A few other newspapers have picked up on it too, though. No smoke and all that...

Who is this Yo Koha Toha, or whoever the **** she is???

She is obsessed with writing bad $h!t about Delta's love life, obsessed!!! thats like the fourth article by her!!???

She's actually a guy. He's the music editor of the Herald Sun. Been around for years. More a rock person than a pop person. Most of the pop articles in the HS are written by a guy called Cameron Adams who, as well as contributing to Kylie's first official book, seems to have inside knowledge on Delta and family.

Nui's run with a lot of Delta stories which are a bit suss and his main source is someone who has a bone to pick with both Delta and Lea. This story, however has been picked up by papers who usually wouldn't run with such gossip. Something is going on, for real, this time.
