It was actually only by a margin of 140.000 that he won.....

I don't know if anyone here listens to him but James Whale who does the night show on Talksport has been sacked for twice telling the listeners that they should vote for Boris.

my daughter didnt vote for him..... though would have done untl i pointed out he was a clown!

yes hes funny but running london isnt a comedic role!

she pointed out that at the olympics HE would be reprisenting the uk!!! ffs.... <_<

Ah James Whale...I used to stay up late to watch Whale On in the late 80s in case they'd show 'a naked lady' again and all I usually got was inperceptible right wing tosh from Whale, Jerry Hayes, Baz Bamigboye and Bernard Manning.

At least Wayne Hussey could be called upon...

I worry about your daughter.... Well, at least she saw sense in the end...

Spot on... Providing a bit of comic relief on HIGNFY is hardly the same thing as running a city...

This tw@t is gonna represent us at the Olympics????? GAWD!!!!!! This is gonna be a bit like Prince Philip opening the Notting Hill Carnival.... Well, the Mayoral elections are every four years.... Hopefully he'll be chucked out by May 2012... Although personally, I'd like to see him get in some sort of scandal and impeached LONG before this happens....

I don't think he should be judged because of what he did on Have I Got News For You

William Hague has been a panelist and guest presenter of the show and he still showed that in his professional capacity as a politician he could be serious if he needed to be when meeting dignatries and royalty etc so Johnson I am sure will be serious as a mayor and professional

If he f***s up then he can be voted out in 4 years but he deserves a chance

But William Hague on Have I Got News For You was never anywhere near as idiotic, funny, loony or clueless than Boris has ever been... He actually seemed fairly professional on it.

but hes a bumbling buffoon all the time, not just on hignfy.... hes a joke, and won the election because people thought it would be funny.... just like michellephant (michelle mcmanus), jade goody, pete ....

Spot on.. Neil Kinnock's contribution as well was not only witty, but intelligent and he actually managed to outsmart Paul and Ian a couple of times.. Boris is, was, and shall ever be, a clueless tw@t who's the butt of the joke....

They laugh at Boris, not with Boris, and he's just too dull-witted to see it coming... That's the diff between his and the guest appearances from Hague and Kinnock...

Sounds to me like Craig is just getting a bit desperate to justify his own vote for Boris....

That's pretty much it in a nutshell... How pathetic do you have to be to vote on those spurious terms... I mean, Politics, the running of a country or city.. Yeah, I mean, that's really the same as Pop Idol or Big Brother innit...? <_<

But what can you do..? We're in a Democracy (well, sort of...), so unfortunately that means that stupid, uneducated Chavs get a vote as well as the more Politically literate....

Given my political roots I would vote for a chimpanzee if it was the official Tory candidate, I vote for parties as opposed to individuals so I never voted Johnson I voted for the party

I think the guy deserves a chance, he screws up then he is toast at the next election but he could hardly do a worse job than Red Ken

How, exactly, did "Red" (which is bollocks anyway, might have been true in the 80s, but he's hardly a card-carrying Socialist now... More like "Purple Ken" I would say... :P ) Ken do a 'bad' job anyway... So, he was a scourge of motorists..? So fukkin' what...? I totally agree with the congestion charge and his plans to charge people according to the size of their cars... Why should these fukkin' r*t**** who drive People Carriers and 4x4s be allowed to occupy practically TWO parking spaces with their, large obnoxious, totally unnecessary vehicles, when parking spaces are at a premium in the city...? For me, the only thing he did wrong was to compromise his own independence by going back to Nu Labor, which basically meant I could never vote for him on the principle that I feel the Mayor of a city should be independent from Party Politics and have no ties to a Party.....

Bottom line, the bloke did more good for Londoners than bad in general, and he was totally committed to the people of this city... You just choose to believe the propaganda spun by the Right Wing rag Evening (low) Standard.......

Main things I didnt like were

1) Congestion charge - As a motorist I want to be able to go where I want and when I want without politicians making me pay

2) Getting rid of Routemaster buses in favour of those grotesque current things

3) Reneging on a deal that would have enabled rail access to Spurs' planned new ground

4) Getting the Olympics to London, while giving a short term boost to regeneration of the East end it will long term mean Londoners will be footing the bill for the massive financial loss the thing will make for a generation

Well for a start he had to get rid of Routemasters - it was either those 'grotesque current things' or deny disabled people public transport - something now against the law, hence why the Routemasters were dropped. I never really understood the affection for them, sure they looked grand but the things stank...

And I reckon all of the regeneration of the East End will probably last a bit longer than 2012...:P

No Olympics has ever made a profit as far as I am aware and I don't believe London will either which ultimately will lead to council tax bills going into the stratosphere to bail London out of the big financial black hole the olympics will generate, this is the party that bought us the financial fiascos of the Dome, the National Library, Wembley Stadium, do you really believe they will keep within the costs for the Olympics ?

The olympics will be the biggest financial nightmare for London ever

Well, London managed to host the Olympics just three years after the end of World War II without being plunged into financial oblivion - especially considering that we were receiving aid from the Marshall Plan etc. at the time; so I don't think the Olympics would in the long term make much difference, at least not to the point where council tax becomes hideously unreasonable for something that will ultimately only drag the East End out of poverty...

point 1 ..... ken re-joined the labour party because he got help that he wouldnt have got by being independant.

point 2 ..... the congestion charge is a good thing, the capital would simply gridlock then youll not be able to get anywhere!

point 3..... the infrastructure post olympics will be of a benefit to londoners and sportsmen alike for many year to come .

Well for a start he had to get rid of Routemasters - it was either those 'grotesque current things' or deny disabled people public transport - something now against the law, hence why the Routemasters were dropped.

Spot on.. There really was no option there, no way to get round that "pesky" Disabled Access legislation. The Bendy Buses have their faults, but frankly, I thought the Routemasters were archaic and rather pathetic (not to mention bloody freezing in winter...), and they were completely impractical for disabled people AND mothers with push-chairs. Nah, they had to go... Boris' plans are to get rid of Bendy Buses and replace them with...well, what exactly....? He's just gonna scrap them and effectively waste all the money already invested in them purely because he wants to take a contrary position to Ken... Arsehole.... <_<

I'm in two minds about the Olympics, the costs seem prohibitive, BUT it really was the only way to get investment and regeneration into an area of London which should have had it over 20 years ago.... Ken did what he had to do, just a shame it took a bloody Olympic bid in order to actually achieve it... Says everything about the way this country is run if you ask me......

point 1 ..... ken re-joined the labour party because he got help that he wouldnt have got by being independant.

Well, mate, you say that, but I reckon he achieved plenty as an Independant Mayor during his first term...
