The Cluth Talk About Working With Britney Spears And Her Hot Track 'Radar'

Ezekiel: Honestly, I know me personally, I’ve wanted to work with Britney Spears forever to be honest. So honestly, I don’t think for any of us it was hard.

I think we all wanted to work with Britney and we were motivated to give her something that was great that was going to help her project become a great project to come back with.

J.Que: Exactly. And also when we went in to create the record – and stop me if I’m wrong in this one, Zeke – I think the one thing we were all trying to make sure is that we didn’t touch on anything that was really dealing with all the stuff that she was dealing with.

Just something that all things are equal and all things are great. Some things you really just like to hear her talking about. We went in and sat down to create a record for the Britney Spears that we know and love.

Ezekiel: That we know and love, exactly. We didn’t want to touch any of that personal stuff. We really thought it was supposed to be the third single but now we’re hearing that it’s the definite fourth single so we’re excited.

J.Que: I definitely think they need to go ahead and put it out.

Ezekiel: That was a fun song to work on though.

J.Que: When I tell you she was the best – minus she got there a little late. She did show up a little late. But when she showed up, I think it caught both of us off guard ‘cause Zeke and I flew to New York to record the record on this.

And I think it caught both of us off guard because, when I tell you when she walked in the booth she stayed in the booth until the sun came up.

Ezekiel: Yeah she was there. She almost outlasted me, I don’t know.

J. Que: It was absolutely nuts, and she took directions very well. I agree like I don’t know what I was expecting because we went in to cut that record the day after she filed divorce from Kevin.

Ezekiel: Right.

J.Que: So we were expecting all kind of nonsense and she was super professional and when she got in the booth, she was super-efficient.

I am so glad that this has been chosen...this will be huge, it is so catchy and so different from everything on the radio (atleast in America). Radar = The new toxic.

I've read this interview before but, I'm still not convinced, can we now say that the 4th single from Blackout will be Radar?

If that's true then it's great! Radar is a great song and I thought it was the 3rd single, but if it's the 4th even better =D

That's so great to see aswell - everyone she works with seems to comment on how professional she is about her work - from these guys right through to Kara DioGuardi (who I just ).

I thought we knew this already.

That 'confirmation' as froma blog I believe, I think it is alot more offiicial if it comes from the mouth of the producer. And there have been reumors swirling that Get Naked, Hot As Ice, Toy Soldier, and Radar would be singles.

Well, hopefully we'll get official confirmation from Britney.com or a better source like that. It's a good single choice; it'd be nice to get a great video come early summer. My guess is the single should fair better than BTI has so far, at least internationally.
Excellent choice. Although I sense another horrid animated video. I know the fans generally like it but I honestly think if she had done a proper video for BTI it would have been a MUCH bigger hit. I know she wasn't in the right frame of mind then etc, etc. Just making a point. :P Still surely now that she's seemingly getting better and doing that TV show and looking good again everywhere she goes she COULD actually do a proper video now?

I agree, but I think it was in the best interest of Britney's health that they did a animated video rather then pushing her to do one. I think that her doing a video for 'Radar' is very possible. There have been a couple of rumors stating that she wants to continue the theme from the BTI video and put her directing skills to work, but instead have real people rather then cartoons.

I think she should be able to film a music video or be in it this time plus direct if she wants to. Not to sound selfish (even though it probably is a bit) but one animated video seems to be enough. An animated video, at least the one for BTI, did nothing for the single and died really fast.

That makes sense.

I wonder what the video is going to be like.

I hope they release a 5th single from the album, preferably Toy Soldier!

great choice....

this time Brit's managment chose the right songs to release unlike what they did in the past....

After this they need to close this era and move on. She needs to get a fresh start with a new album, not continue with something that started while she went through the lowest point in her life.

I'm not actually sure what 'The Clutch' is, but just came across this on DigitalSpy, and thought it was interesting!!:

The track Radar is to be the fourth single from the album with a release sometime in late June or early July 2008, following a statement released by The Clutch.

Its accompanying music video is rumored to be directed by Spears herself.

The music video for "Radar" will mark the second time Spears has directed a video (after her "Do Somethin'" clip in 2005). A source indicated that Spears wants to direct the video to "make sure it's exactly right". The storyline of the video is currently unknown. But it is thought to follow the events of "Break the Ice", since the end of the video says "to be continued". The "Radar" music video is rumored to begin filming in late June 2008.

On May 08, 2008 the single's cover was leaked onto the internet.

This is the single cover

Self-Directed seemes interesting!! Hope it's good - but it's weird that it says the vid will film in late June, but the first sentance suggests it could be OUT in late June :o

edit: Turns out The Clutch are a songwriting agency, and co-produced Radar and Freakshow!
