This has been said about 3 million times already but if we dont like them, you cant make us.

Im only 16, i love great cheesy bubblegum pop music and The Saturdays are certainly not great.

I feel it's unfair how such a bland song with NO orginally (it samples Heidi Montag 'Body Language', a dire song by Paris Hilton wannabe)

can get such promotion and backing (hype) whilst much better songs which have been written by the artists themselves fail to see the light of day.

Of course its not about the music nowadays though anyway.

Id happily say good things about them if they'd launched with a song which was original, not sampled and generally a great pop song but it really sounds

like a leftover Sugababes B-Side.

excellent post.... spot on, too.

hey, halfwit, you're on a public MESSAGEBOARD - a forum...perhaps you need a description of what a forum is?

fo·rum (fôrm, fr-)

n. pl. fo·rums also fo·ra (fôr, fr)

1.

a. The public square or marketplace of an ancient Roman city that was the assembly place for judicial activity and public business.

b. A public meeting place for open discussion.

c. A medium of open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper or a radio or television program.

2. A public meeting or presentation involving a discussion usually among experts and often including audience participation.

3. A court of law; a tribunal.

To try to denigrate someone's opinion because of their age is ludicrous - pop fans can be any age whatsoever.... and wasn't pure pop created by our generation anyway? Fool....

Whatever your age, anyone with even half a brain would realise The Saturdays (who surely employ Stevie Wonder as a stylist) are GODAWFUL. The single is appalling and if I were Vince Clarke (you know, the guy who wrote the riff this trash is based around), I'd be suing the wobbly asses off of them.

 spot on russ....

i dispare at times that these younger people dont understand the concept of debate, nor indeed listening to points of view from people who were there at the time , relating why a song perhaps isnt quite what 'fans' think it is!

lord almighty! what do people expect from bj?... lets all sit around and agree? ffs..

what some of these young people fail to appreciate is WHY all the old buggers dont rate it! ... get this punks... we have seen it all before!

It actually samples Yazoo's 'Situation', nobody knows or cares who Heidi Montag is... especially to sample a song of hers.

Oooh ive had a listen to that now, its actually a very good pop song.

Nowadays it seems the only way songs can be saved from sounding abysmal is by sampling 80s synths/songs.

Hopefully soon there will be a really good girlband appear though, theres plenty of talent out there its just the wrong

people/groups get thrown into the limelight, then tossed away a few months later because the reality is they just arent good.

Where in my post does it say I want anyone to love them?

I was clearly stating that there's no need to keep going off topic and talking about these random "under-hyped", "Underrated" acts.

This thread is about The Saturdays and their single. You don't have to like them. You don't even have to think about them.

I can't get my head around why someone would spend so much time in the thread of a group they don't even like?

Yo, Eejit. I know what a forum is.

But what you're doing is not discussing. You're blatantly bashing the band for no reason at all.

Oh, because they sampled an old song? Is it your track? Are you so completely broken up about it that you spend half of your time replying to "halfwits" half your age?

And I'm quite certain it was your fellow fogey that denigrated your opinions, yet that was seen as a joke.

If they're so GODAWFUL, why bother?

I can't get my head around why someone would spend so much time in the thread of a group they don't even like?

... and there lies the problem with you... (again...<_<) failing to understand the concept of DISCUSSION. to have the ability to air contrary points of view and to listen to others.

the thread is about the saturdays... thats NOT saturdays appreciation, its about discussing them, good and bad.

you go on about 'saying the same things over again' but are still failing to take on board what the older people are saying here, hell you dont have to agree with us, but to understand WHY there is so much sceptisism and negativity towards them.

that will equate to a healthy discussion.

but sitting around all posting trite one liners 'arnt they great' is utter bollox and will kill bj as an active forum.

you are showing your age. total inability to enter into discourse on an adult level.

Why wouldn't I show my age?

I'm not trying to be something I'm not.

true... wouldnt knock that, but it isnt beyond a young person to understand what old buggers are saying, and why... conor has.

it would be just as false to go around believeing the saturdays are something they arnt... yeah?

as far as im concerned im not bothered wether or not they are 'big', disposable pop does have its place in anyones music collection as long as they understand exactly what it is.

i liked scj/8, i considered 'one step closer' and 'new direction' as good pop for what it was, and what it was was a three minute no brainer that could be used as such.

i think us oldies would prefer to see music being fresh and vibrant, guess being old is a blessing in as much that ive lived through most of the great musical styles. id like to see that tradition of innovation carried on.... the saturdays do not fit this bill, BUT i think theres potential there for them to rival ga and the sugababes... ill not be holding my breath though! they need good material, they need to perform live everytime, then they might become credible pop.

The thing is that what you believe The Saturdays to be is clearly NOT how Peyton feels, and to dismiss his opinion is unfair. Seriously though, where is this going? I come in this thread to discuss the Saturdays and get the latest news about their launch - instead there's page after page of ranting about how manufactured and talentless and blahh blahh, whatever - if you think that, then fine, but repeating it over and over is just needless. You're stopping people from discussing a group they are passionate about.

nonsense... if people want to put something tangeable then post away! who can argue against a launch date?

but again you and others are causingthe negative responses by continuing to 'big up' something that is clearly sub-standard.

and again (yawn) bj is about DEBATE, its an open public forum for people to exchange views both good and bad. it aint about 1 liners, its about exploring the topic concerned ... successful forums are full of members who can do just that.

Why wouldn't I show my age?

you're quite clearly being something you are - a top-class, grade-A moron. And that sig is hilarious, by the way.

If he's showing his age, I must ask - are 8 year olds really allowed on Buzzjack?

I basically gave my opinion and you thrown a hissy fit at it so im obviously going to reply.

The thread's here for people to discuss the song and say if they think the songs a piece of $h!t or not

but what your saying is we cant do that, we all have to love it.

Its a song, and your right i am wasting my time on people like you, bye.

tbh russ, thats abit harsh... you were young once ... remember? or has altzheimers got you?

Once young indeed, and still a moron.

but again you and others are causing the negative responses by continuing to 'big up' something that is clearly sub-standard.

You've absolutely just said that by liking a new group and their single, we are asking for an argument. Absolute ridicule, and surely a sign that there's no need for you to be in this topic...we can't post a bloody positive comment without getting shot down, for god's sake!

you're quite clearly being something you are - a top-class, grade-A moron. And that sig is hilarious, by the way.

But my excuse is that I'm an 8 year old moron.

Aren't you supposed to set an example to half-wits like myself?

That's a real mature response Daddio.
