Radio 1's playlist kicks in on a Monday, meaning the week it was first made b-list kicks in today, and this week's sticking on the b-list kicks in next Monday. Therefore #68 on the airplay chart was after a week on the c-list, so it's not too shabby. And it isn't downloadable for another 2 weeks so hopefully it'll make the A-list next week. If not, it could indeed flop, but if it became a hit all the same it'd just make it all the more an achievement. I'll wait to see what happens...

with all the money being thrown at them for promotion, it WONT be an acheivement at all, no matter how high it charts. theres no credibility in that.

the group will release 3 singles and 1 album, thats what their management have paid for, THEN is the crucial time, depending upon the sales will determine if theres any more saturdays.

All of that stuff about the big money figures is being taken out of context; the majority of major label artists requires a lot of money throwing at them. Besides, it's not legal for TV and radio to accept money bribes, so where is this supposed £400k going? It sure as hell didn't go on the music video...

Edited by Jark

I agree Jark, the money situation is being blown out of context here, plenty of acts have had a lot more money thrown at them.

There's an article on Popjustice today about the Saturdays - read it here.

Up sounds great! Interesting to see two new song titles too, 'Chasing Light' (I think) and 'Fall'.

Well i have to say 'Up' sounds much better than their debut though theres still something missing from it listening to the clip.
OH MY GOD 'Up' sounds even better than it did live. Absolutely incredible!

tip supplied the figure so only he can answer that. true, all acts have money thrown at them, but this lot seem to be having more... anyway..move on.

its chart position really will be irrelevant, its sales that count.

Unfortunetly i dont see it selling that much and i dont think the chart run will be that great really. Maybe not as bad as McFly chart runs but im not expecting anymore than around 6 weeks in the top 40.

Actually they could have McFly run, because of all the text sales they got from the Girls Aloud tour... the 2nd week should be a big drop for them!

Up deserves to be #1 for weeks and weeks!

It's amazing.

And I think I need that album sampler?

I'd pay a months wages for it right now?

Edited by PeytonDavis

The sampler should leak within the month I'd imagine, unless they've been clever and tagged the songs so that if they are leaked they can find out who was responsible.

They won't have got many text sales from GA's tour, perhaps a couple of thousand at best. That will hardly affect it.

This song would be great for eurovision, think UK would have done well if the Saturdays had entered,

What I don't understand is that such "bad" music is selling very well.

Sugababes worked a long time to get the fame and all the other things, I think this group (saturdays) will have no long life.

They are not very well known in the music world, and I am sure they don't know anything about it.

The music world is very hard, you have give all .. but with this band I think it won't be for long.

My apologizes for the people that are fans.

ROTFL! "A couple of thousands" is actually the gap between a top5 (or close to) and a low top20  So OF COURSE it will signficantely afect their chart position!

And anyway, how can you be so sure it will bring "a couple of thousands at best"? You can't have clue, so don't make it look so sure.

Technichally it isnt selling well, since well it hasnt been realesead yet and i dont think anyone is expecting it too sell amazingly.

Sugababes got fame rather easily compared to other artists really, Overload went top 10. Compare that to Beverley Knight whos first 2 albums sold next to nothing and is still not getting the huge sales she clearly deserves.

Being from S Club 8, 2 of them at least know a thing ot 2 about being popstars i guess.

I do agree with you though, that despite my love for the song, as a group i dont see it lasting that long.

Edited by The 411.

Yeah agree,

I don't think this group will life 10 years (Sugababes do this year)
