Lmao 'Loose Women' is a rubbish show imo anyway.

What happened to the good TV shows like CD:UK and Top Of The Pops, about 5 years ago there was plenty of good music tv shows.

They will most likely mime the song yet again, id much rather an S Club 8 reunion at least their singles were good bar one.

As i've said, i have much better things to be obsessed over trust me. Im just enthusiastic and want them to do well so when/if GA and Suga's are gone in a few years we have another girl group still. Nothing at all wrong with that and sticking up for their abilities and their songs which are both proven to be good.

lol... you are still doing it though..

defending their honour... everytime someone says summut bad you are there countering that opinion... but theres no need... everyone knows you like them, most know theyll flop within a year.

you are doing yourself no favours here, its only your opinion that they are any good.. you might (most think probably) will be proven wrong!

just let someone post a negative post and leave it... :)

Have you? Who? I dont think i've seen anyone mime on there, i cant remember anyone anyway.

Atomic Kitten :( (they can sing live so why don't they), Hilary Duff, Jason Donavon, and many others.

absolutely! so far ive not heard 1 saturdays track of the calibre of the material scj/8 got. scj's first three releases reached #2... ill wager my house that this will NOT be repeted by the shyte-adays,...

Come on now! They've only done 2 TV performances and one was mimed so it wouldnt exactly be 'yet again', plus they've perfomed live on every slot of their GA support.

Hope they dont mime anyway.

Mushy, you're living in some kind of freakaloid delusional dreamworld if you think SC8 were in any way shape or form good. They're everything you've identifed as being wrong with the Saturdays, except 204353x worse.

S Club 8 "Fool No More" was amazing

I think you should take your own advice here then, too.

You let someone post a positive comment and leave it.

Don't you think it's a tad hypocritical to single him out for being positive about the band when every post that comes from you is negative?

You post just as much as him with negativity as he does with positivity.

Ahhh this thread brings back SO many memories for me.

I think Rob will remember the good ol' days when I first registered on CC and argued with him tooth and nail about how great S Club 7 and Rachel Stevens were etc, etc. Rob told me time and time again that they puppets, unoriginal, throwaway pop and nothing special whatsoever - to which I argued against repeatedly.

However, in retrospect (God help me for saying this...) Rob was right. S Club 7 were just a high scale cash cow, used to shift units and make money for the label - nothing more, nothing less. Same goes for Rachel Stevens, as much as I enjoyed the music of both S Club 7 and Rachel they were nothing but puppets and I actually agree with Rob that The Saturdays are exactly the same. Unit shifters, disposable and i'm doubtful they will last long. However, I hope i'm wrong with that because I do think they show a bit of promise, they could actually produce something good.

As for the song, it's pretty mediocre in comparison to a lot of other stuff out there at the moment but I do quite like it. I don't love it by any means but it's just harmless pop music. I wish them every success in the world, but a long-lasting career isn't going to happen in my opinion.

No-one is dis-agreeing with the fact that they're manufactured. I just stand up for the fact that they ARE talented and COULD have a long career with the promise they show. Some people just dont seem to get that though.

OK, OK, just a quick thought... IF The Saturdays really are so talented, worthwhile etc etc etc... why is their debut single, for all intents and purposes, a cover version?!?!

I mean, there's a sly small sample... and there's a cover version.

And apart from some truly inane lyrics chucked over the top, this song is Yazoo's 'Situation'. Which is even to the clinically deaf, a much, much better track anyway. And it's pretty sacriligious to even try to cover (or do what they've done to) this song.

Oh I think they are talented don't get me wrong. Potentially they could have a similar career to Girls Aloud, but the UK are quite hesitant when it comes to new girlbands, I mean the list of casualties is endless. They do have alright voices, can carry a tune and by the sounds of the snippets i've heard here and there seem to have quite good material. It all just depends on how well the UK public receive them.

Impact - thats what they tried to make with using a SAMPLE, although tbh the press and radio have not picked up on it= instead they just love the song in its own right.

Talent doesnt always have to be about songwriting. There are many songwriters and composers out there that can't sing a note. At the moment, i base the girls talent on their vocal and perfomance skills along with their contribution to the lyrics on ITIL.

The only reason this record is being talked about outside junior school playgrounds is because of the iconic... err... 'sample' they've used (heavily and badly) - 'press and radio haven't picked up on it"... sorry, but the 3 times I've heard this junk on the radio, 3 times the Yazoo song's been mentioned afterwards... you're mental

"move out, don't mess around

move out, you bring me down

move out, how you get about

don't make a sound just move out"

Wow, well the "Original" lyrics are just FAB-U-LOUS.

The lyrics to "Situation" are basically 12 lines of nonsense pushed together and that "chorus".

Call The Saturday's lyrics all you like, but don't try and say that those lyrics are better.

Because they are not.

Peyton, dear...calm down - you'll be melting your Cheeky Girl 12"s....

You've obviously Googled the Yazoo lyrics (I'd hardly expect you to know them... or to even have heard the song before The Saturdays ransacked it  )... you could have chosen the verses... or would just picking the lyrically unchallenging chorus somehow add strength to your (supposed) argument? Hmm...

blue eyed dressed for every situation

moving through the doorway of a nation

pick me up and shake the doubt

baby i can't do without

chorus

move out, don't mess around

move out, you bring me down

move out, how you get about

don't make a sound just move out

i remember only for an hour

move right through me can you feel the power

i don't know what's going on

it scares me but it won't take long

repeat chorus

now he's in control he is my lover

nations stand against him he's your brother

been a long time, been a long time now

i'll get to you somehow

If you're looking for a great lyricist - you really shouldn't need to look much further than Alison Moyet, actually (not the Yazoo stuff - Yazoo were primarily a dance act... just to let you know)... then again... perhaps her lyrics may not err... 'speak' to you.

You have to admitt their vocal skills are nothing brillant though, and the 2 TV performances were quite bad (nothing brillant too)
