Agreed. But i believe they have the potential to be the next original group. They have fantastic voices, write their own music, play instruments and have great personalities. I think if they release 'Up!' we could see the rise of the biggest girlgroup since 2002's Girls Aloud.

after 27 pages of posts, you still dont get it :)

they are NOT 'original' at all! 'write their own music' ?... you mean are directed to put lyrics over a pre-produced backing track (or worse still... sampled <_<), play instruments?.. well ive not yet seen that.

ok ok, you like them ... but stop kidding yourself that they are anything special, because atm there is NO evidence of this. three singles, one album... the chances are that by the new year, or early into it, they may well be on the scrapheap. their record company will NOT be throwing money at them forever, as soon as they become unprofitable they will be sunk.

play instruments?.. well ive not yet seen that.

Erm, Una clearly plays guitar on the 'Issues' video from Nokia Green Room.

I do believe they're special, i think they have great talent and will stick by that. If you believe they arent then so be it, but im not going to change my opinion.

That's not necessarily true. They dress like sophisticated teens or young adults at the moment

SOPHISTICATED?! :w00t: They look llike any townie tart you'd see dancing badly in any Yates' wine lodge in any suburban town. Too short, too tight - Top Shop.

Whatever they sound like, one thing's for sure - The Saturdays need a decent stylist - badly.

... not even IF they are proven to be talentless puppets?..

im not trying to talk anyone out of liking them, just to see them for what they most probably are... like several on this thread have (the 411 for eg)

if they are still around in 5 years, ill admit that my first impressions were wrong.... but ill put money on the fact that they wont be! ill bet they wont reach a third album . IF they are as talented as you believe, ill be wrong.

agreed.... and starting with that godamnawful name!!!

Talent isnt measured in time or lasting 5 albums all the time, just look at the likes of Britney Spears - she isnt the best singer or songwriter but has carved a successful career out.

Im saying that even if The Saturdays are dropped after the first single i will stand by the fact that they are talented, their songs are fantastic along with their voices and no-one can convince me different.

well true... however IF they are that talented then surely a successful recording career would be the result...

sorry but they are just a bog standard bunch of young bints with nothing special to offer. it wouldnt be at all hard to get any bunch of young bints together who can sing in harmony...

oh and its highly unlikely they will be dropped after their first single, that would have to seriously bomb and thats unlikely. they are contracted for 3 singles off one album. IF they make enough money they will get an extended contract to produce a further album and associated singles. this will continue until they either split... or.. until they stop making enough money.

I would say the first bit of this is not true, many people who are extremly tallented have flopped unjustly, it depends on things like the market at the time and of course how much promotion the lable will give them.

How nice of you to call people you havent met, have seen very few clips of bints. :P

I like the saturdays, but not really ITIL, it is okay, but not the best song for a debut single. I think they will be around for at least the first album and probably a second, however i think since at least 3 of the saturdays were signed to Polydor as solo artists, and from that put into The Saturdays, i think most would jump at the chance if they were offered a solo record deal.

Lol I have nothing to say anymore, well 1 thing ....

To have respect and more in this world you have to be strong and good with music.

Look at Sugababes, in the very beginning they were nothing .., people didn't know who they are ... because of this they got dropped and a member left the band. But they were strong to take a new member and make new music and than they got full respect with their albums because they kept on going making music!

If this happends to the Saturdays:

They will stop with the band, because they cant organize their own things.

i dont agree that the sugababes were 'nothing'... 'overload' was a very good and different debut single and was critically acclaimed... unlike 'if this is love'...

the sugababes had potential, the saturdays do NOT compare.

The Saturdays have great potential proven in 'Issues' and 'Up!' so i beleive we too could be witnessing the start of something good.

Lets just agree to dis-agree, you think they're talentless bints i dont.

Preview clip of the b-side, What Am I Gonna Do:

Sounds alright!

ITIL is out of the TV airplay chart this week but on Radio airplay it climbs 25 places to #43! :D

Thats not really good about the TV Airplay

Quite good i guess about Radio Airplay though.

Oh, I misread the chart, it's actually up 2 spots to #29 on video airplay. :heehee:
