May 10, 200817 yr losers in this heat are Pearl Jam and Guns'N'Roses thread for heat 2 will open shortly so Guns'N'Roses lost - esp when its obv that those Manic Street Preachers are just a soft-rock version of G'N'R
May 11, 200817 yr so Guns'N'Roses lost - esp when its obv that those Manic Street Preachers are just a soft-rock version of G'N'R  It's fair that Generation Terrorists and Gold Against The Soul used the GnR template but with better lyrics but The Holy Bible moved them way beyond that.
May 11, 200817 yr It's fair that Generation Terrorists and Gold Against The Soul used the GnR template but with better lyrics but The Holy Bible moved them way beyond that. Spot on.. The Manics never denied that G 'N' R influence (the first song on "Generation Terrorists is called 'SLASH and Burn'...  ), but it was young, sexy, dangerous Guns 'N' Roses they were influenced by, not bloated, tired, film soundtrack/cover version whores Guns 'N' Roses..... And yep, better lyrics too... I somehow doubt very much Axl could write lyrics like those on "Motorcycle Emptiness", "Stay Beautiful" or "Love's Sweet Exile".... So, far from being a "soft" version of G 'N' R, I'd say they were an intelligent version...
