At what point do you say that Soft-rock becomes Pop Music and stops becoming rock music???

Is Soft-rock ever acceptable in your eyes?

yes its acceptable, why not?

i dont think theres is a 'cut off point'... tracks are 'rock' on a sliding scale, led zep at one end, kim wilde at the other

is that about coldplay?i was wonderin...

seriously now...soft rock=evil!

ok back to the subject.

soft rock is like soft porn for me...

i dont even bother putting music into genres because artists can transcend genres so much. The new Good Charlotte CD has songs that sound like punk, hard rock, techno, pop and even country...ON ONE CD!
I guess you could say Aerosmith have gone soft-rock, almost 'pop-rock' these days.

Well even tho their AOR power ballads will get loads of airplay - i thought they had gone back to really rootsy blues rock with their honking on boho - getting to the very beginning of the roots of heavy metal/hard rock genre.

good point - but you know people are funny when it comes to their genres and must pigeonhole if they can!!!
