I actually liked the non-English version! I thought it was much catchier. It probably won't do that well here though you never know.

It looks like there is a release date now? Gooddelta knows more :D
I don't think it would work in the UK tbh, usually foreign language hits in the UK are novelty ones like Gasolina or Asereje.
Dame mas Gasoliiina!

Off-topic: BTW, is that the only Daddy Yankee hit in UK?

BTW, like this song. (EU version)

BTW I quite like this club remix of the song:

thanks Ben :D

Sorry I'm too enthusiastic as the new dance mod

the French one is better

I prefer the french one too.

Kate sounds on the English one like someone who has flu

it does sound odd  maybe it's because we are all too used to the French version and it will sound normal to people hearing it for the first time

it's like when Mdiče entered the English version of Las De La Intuicion :arrr: :kink:

Original version is better i agree. Im really hoping that this doesnt flop to baddly though.

without wishing to turn this into a Shakira debate, the one time she got it right with a Spanish-English translation was with Ojos Asi (1998) which became Eyes Like Yours for the Laundry Service album

Number 10 in Germany. I think she her previous songs were better than this. BTW she samples a lot of french hits.

She doesn't sample, she litteraly COVERS the biggest French hits of the 80s, just adding a bit of a more dance beat to it.

That's true. I don't know why she never did Les Demons De Minuit by Images, that would be awesome.

Anyway, I like this English version, but my main problem is that the translation is REALLY literal

:o English version of the huge European hit has finally come out:

coming out unfortunately on AATW which means that it will probably flop, but fingers crossed that it does alright

Does anyone know the last time AATW had proper single success? (not counting What Hurts The Most- that would've been #1 on Hard To Beat :P)

EDIT: Paddy's Revenge, My Destiny, Ouch, Discolights, Jumping All Over The World and Trippin On You did ok last year- all top 30. T2 & Jodie got to #2 in 2007.

Oh my god this song is an ABSOLUTE horror. AWFUL. Sorry to bring hate into the topic, I just thought I'd give this a listen after the relentless hype and I'm NOT getting why it has such love all over the internet...
Um, OK. If you listened to the English version, please listen to the French one. That's what all the love is for.

05.03.2009 | UK release Ella Elle L'a (International)

20 years after France Gall had a major European hit with her excellent tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, Ella Elle L'A (Ella, She Has It), a new version of the song by Kate Ryan was a major hit in Europe last year. It has now been revoxed for UK release on All Around The World with Ryan singing English verses but retaining the French chorus of the song. The result is a Commercial Pop chart smash, rocketing 11-1 this week to trump fellow All Around The World act N-Trance's 7-2 leap with Nothing Lasts Forever. The video of Ella Elle L'a is added to BoxTv since yesterday and is already on Fizz and Clubland. MTV will add next week, more to follow...
