The spam on Will's facebook is driving me mad :arrr: if people would read the instructions they would see there is no point, they say you can only earn points for one item posted in any 6 hour period Plus they say no spamming will be rewarded, so there is no point in posting a hundred times (i am prone to slight exaggeration :lol: )

Not rocket science for "said person to recognise herself" when you started talking about a guest appearance on the TV special after mentioning 606 and reprising the old jealousy about her being able to go to lots of gigs. Sad thing is you didn't get your facts right before posting because "said person" didn't go to the radio 2 concert. She was in fact working late that evening. I suspect she is (justifiably ) hurt by the unpleasant comments on here.

 

Incidentally I'm surprised you didn't know that to make a guest appearance on the Will Young special you had to enter a competition and send in a video explaining why you wanted to be there/talking about your love for Will. These were independently judged and those who had made the best videos were invited to attend the Special. I didn't get my act together to make a video so I didn't go to the special. Other people made videos but weren't chosen. And some people who thought long and hard about their entry to make it unique or funny or heartfelt won tickets. And that included the person you are (not so obliquely) referring to in this thread. so what's the problem there, then?

 

But hey, the bitching, sorry I mean discussion started on here within minutes of another fan posting on another forum that she was going to the radio 2 screening. Reading the post she says she got a ticket from someone in the media. Production tickets are routinely given out to members of the relevant broadcasting company and others. Lucky her for knowing someone who was able to obtain one of those tickets. Yet for some reason your posts seem to suggest that that fan should have turned down the chance to go. I'm not sure why but then I'm not sure why some people are so quick to bully others without getting their facts straight.

 

For the record I am trying to win tickets for the Magic gig by ringing in to the radio station every morning - if I'm lucky enough to win I will go. If the fans you seem to dislike so much win I'm sure they will go too, if they don't they won't. Simple as. One thing's for sure, if I am lucky I hope to take people with me who have always been glad for those who have had opportunities to see Will when they have not and who come on forums such as these and other fan sites to share love for Will and his music , not slag off other fans with sly innuendo and false allegations.

Can't speak for anyone else but I am certainly not jealous of anyone.I don't need to be seen at every Will event to prove my enjoyment of his music.

I do enjoy this forum though,it is great to have somewhere to post without being hounded and criticized by "real fans"-unlike other certain sites.

How many times have we read this over the years? The selfish fans labelling themselves the victims. Caring/sharing devoted never existed despite the rose coloured specs of some. It was always a back scratching club for the 'elite' whose philosophy is sod the rest of them, that's life!

You can't ride rough shod over others and expect to be popular. Believe me the feelings expressed on here are just the tip of the iceberg of a fan community who have seen how some operate at close quarters.

Oh dear. I do praise your loyalty to your friends, but what a shame your own fandom doesn't extend to posting a single word of praise for Will on here in four and a half years of Buzzjack membership.

 

I think you need to realise that usually people form their views of people they come across virtue of what they do and how they act over time. Many Will fans have come across each other for ten years now in many different settings. Sometimes as in life people can get the wrong end of the stick on single issues but the broad view already formed remains the same. I think to be honest you are fighting a losing battle defending the indefensible. All people have done is passed an opinion on many past experiences.

 

I hope you manage to win your tickets for your friends fair and square in the Magic competition. Twould make a change from the various convoluted scenarios we have had described over the years to justify serial attendance at various events. I dare say there will be research and networking going on for alternative methods of entry just in case. But you never know someone may thave already discovered hey are a long lost relative of the caretaker's cat who has kindly organised front row seats.

Who is casting themselves as a victim? :unsure: Someone can feel rightly aggrieved to have cowardly, unwarranted and false bitchy remarks said about them on a public forum. That doesn't make them a victim. The person you complained about at the start DID NOT GO to the radio 2 gig.

 

I doubt the poster known as Spidie is losing much sleep about having accepted an invitation to go to radio 2. Why should she? Then again I didn't know that Will had made a polite request asking her not to go.

 

I've experienced plenty of caring and sharing on Devoted, particularly from people who I have subsequently met in real life and now count as friends. I would never expect a stranger off an internet forum to be "kind " to me personally but am always grateful for the information and pictures and videos and snippets of news which are posted up for others to read. I recognise some names here who do just that. That's caring and sharing surely?

 

Life isn't equal, some people have the money to go to lots of gigs, some people live in London where many of the "intimate gigs" take place, some people are free to go to as many things as they can while others have family responsibility, financial worries or live a long way away. Some fans are young and beautiful, some not so much. Some spend huge amounts of time trawling the internet for news of Will and enter every competition that is going, some win some don't. Some fans make me cringe with vicarious embarrassment at some of the things they say and do, they and others see such behaviour as normal. Some fans have the time, inclination and dedication to queue for hours to get a prime position, others can't be arsed and don't particularly want to be right at the front, some fans appear not to need to go to the loo for hours on end, while others do. Some people are always going to have the wherewithall to see Will more than others.

 

re the wondering who is going to be at the Magic gig - surely we can answer that now. The people who entered the competition be it online or on the radio and who win, along with presumably the industry bods invited by Magic/ their clients ( as evidenced by the bauer facebook page , and there are presumably others). Along with everyone else who listens to Magic, I heard over the radio two fans who I know winning the competition fair and square on the radio. :cheer: The buggers didn't ask me though :D

Have to say I was amazed to see I joined so long ago. I tried to register yesterday , yes I admit it purely to post my defensive tirade and discovered that my email address was already in use. So I got a new password sent to me and here I am. (Wtf made me choose Hawaiian girl as my user name all those years ago and why did i register at all then anyway? Must have been a link on DV?)?

 

So you're right I haven't posted on here in all these years about Will's voice or performing skills. I do that elsewhere. Equally I haven't posted unkind and jealous remarks and innuendoes about other fans who may be more dedicated/ lucky/ determined/ deluded than me. I don't do that anywhere. Defensive tirades? Well yes you've got me there.... ;)

 

Surely if you're a long lost relative of the caretakers cat you'd be a cat yourself - doubt the promoters would let a cat in. :D
