The following week, she was knocked off No1 and would never be seen in the Top Five after it left.

Erm, Ride It made #4 back in November 2005. ;)

While I agree with the second comment about the state of pop in 2001, I do not agree that Don't Stop Movin' could be included in this generalisation. For me, its one of THE defining pop songs of the decade and has easily stood the test of time, which is more than could be said for Geri's dire cover...

Yeah Don't Stop Movin' was a great record!!! perhaps their very best (tho thats hard its between this, S Club Party, Reach and the near Motown-pop of their first - biab) and their TV show wasnt too bad either...

dont care about Geri Halliwell that much - but yeah a faster chart with loads of newbie is a good thing - good that Alex & Miles LSP song is out of the chart after 5 week this week - a good olde fashioned indie/britpop run!!!
 I loved the Samantha Mumba track on its way out of that chart ''Always come back to your love'' she could have been really big if she didnt take that huge break.

they did have an embarrasingly high number of good singles...which is why they will be more fondly remembered than many other pop groups of the era

Well, accept my apologies that I forgot an absolutely rubbish song in that calculation.

But to go from having four No1s in a row (I believe) in such a short spell - less than 24 months - to only having 1 top 5 in seven years is pretty bad.
