Ok, I confess I don't really know much about Donna Summer but she's back with her first album since 1991, Crayons.

Give her airbrusher a massive pay increase becuase no sixty-something looks THAT amazing :heehee:

Anyway you can hear lead single Stamp Your Feet here:

It's produced by Greg Kurstin and once that disco chorus kicks in it is an absolute anthem!

Also her official site has a song off the album, The Queen Is Back, in full. Click here to listen - it's even better! Amazing!

Not a studio album. :P

Seriously, I know so many of you guys would LOVE the new music this legend is pushing out - give it a try!

Stamp Your Feet:

That's just a promo clip; theres no actual music video as such.

Its rare for me to like an album by someone so old, im quite agest with music

But i love 'Stamp Your Feet' so i decided to give the whole album a listen.

Heres my very quick review:

01 Stamp Your Feet - Really love this song, so catchy & that anthem chorus makes it even better - 9/10

02 Mr Music - Everything produced by JR Rotem is always amazing, the synths on this are amazing, love it - 10/10

03 Crayons (Ft Ziggy Marley) - Ive never heard electro-pop reggae before, but its really good, great summer tune - 9/10

04 The Queen Is Back - Sounds like something from 1985, really great song - 9.5/10

05 Fame (The Game) - Yet again, a brilliant extremely catchy pop tune, she sounds a lot younger than 59 in it  - 9/10

06 Sand On My Feet - Much slower song now, and its a very nice slow slice of pop, very good - 8.5/10

07 Drivin' Down Brazil - Reminds me of something 'Enrique Iglesias' would do for some reason, its quite good, a filler but a good one - 7/10

08 I'm A Fire - This is one long song, i cant listen to it all tbh but its very much good dancey pop - 7/10

09 Slide Over Backwards - Something completely different, its weird, country, basically plain odd yet catchy - 7.5/10

10 Science Of Love - This is like Kylie Minogue meets Timbaland imo, great song - 9/10

11 Be Myself Again - A slow 90s sounding ballad here, its nice enough i guess - 6.5/10

12 Bring Down The Reign - Pretty average end to the album here, not bad though - 6/10

Overall: A pretty good album actually, the first five songs are really amazing but it goes downhill from there though not bad.

This is a truly amazing album! Crayons is just so catchy and slide over backwards is completely different but soo good! This is a triumph for the old girl!

Hey Geo. :o I totally agree! She's #18 on US iTunes atm with the album. Also she performed Stamp Your Feet on American Idol!

She comes in at around two minutes or so. Amazing!

The release schedule for some reason has I'm A Fire down as being released as a single on 23rd June, the same day as Crayons comes out here. I doubt very much it'll actually happen but if we do get a single it should be Stamp Your Feet, not IAF...

Yeh i agree. I dont think I'm a fire would do as well and Stamp your feet is better. I hope she does well, i'm in love with this album!
I Love it! But just not sure if I can see this getting airplay in the US....Hopefully Donna Summer is popular enough to make it chart even without airplay.

Album got to #17 in the US in the end! :D Great result!

17 SUMMER*DONNA CRAYONS 22,573 +999% 124 22,697

Her last album, in 1990, only sold 50,000 copies in total!

Second week Billboard figures are in:

(17) 43 SUMMER*DONNA CRAYONS 11,624 -49% 22,573 34,321

Quite a drop in terms of chart positions, but sales dropped less than 50% when the average second-week fall is 65%. Going well. ^_^
