2 weeks ago I saw Kelly Groucutt jamming with a band called Vivo at Old Sills Rugby Club near Solihull.

He sung Stand By Me & was absolutely brilliant.

He said he would be back next month .

Kelly Groucutt was a brilliant addition to ELO - his voice just melded perfectly with Jeff Lynne's. He didn't half wear some tight trousers though! Blood and sand! At times nothing was left to the imagination.

This retro thread has got me digging out all older bands that I used to like, like Level 42, Squeeze and the Stranglers. I may actually go and see The Stranglers this summer in Liverpool - they're doing a joint gig with Blondie.

I would have loved to be at either of these gigs

Sex Pistols Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall June 76

Clash Manchester Electric Circus May 1977

Obvious choice, but Queen. I was three years old when Freddie died and didn't truly discover most of their stuff until I was about 12.
The Smiths or Queen

I was fortunate enough to see both these bands twice, the Smiths at the Free Trade Hall 83 & Palace Theatre 84 in Manchester and Queen at the Birmingham NEC 1984 and at Live Aid in 1985 where they stole the show
