July 30, 200816 yr And don't be so quick to write off Bent ;) He was amazing for Charlton, last season he was unlucky with injuries and had to spend time on the bench because Keane and Berbs were on fire but with a full season as lead striker and staying fully fit he would get 20+ goals for us in the premiership
July 30, 200816 yr I think Dos Santos is alright. For the price Spurs payed for him, it was worth the gamble. But you still have to ask yourself why Barca would let him go? I know the have Bojan, but still. I don't think he'll do too good this season though, he's got potential but that's all at the moment imo. I think he's a long way off from being a top player. I don't think Bent will get 20+ goals a season either. Even when he was playing with Berbatov and Keane he didn't look up to it. No matter how many good midfielders Spurs have signed thus far, if they don't sign another forward soon i'd be worried if I was a Spurs fan (well, depending on the Berbatov situation). Has been announced Barry is going to be staying at Villa too, which really contradicts earlier reports today.

Bent prefers playing upfront on his own, he was the lone striker at Charlton and just doesn't play well when he is with another striker, playing lone striker at Spurs with Modric, Dos Santos, Bentley, Arshavin and Bale pumping in balls for him is a nice thought
July 30, 200816 yr How do you explain Berbatov then ? if Spurs are so c**p why did he sign for them and why are you, Barca, Milan after him 2 years later ? has he suddenly become a great player in the last 2 years ? if so that must be down to great Spurs coaching ;) which is it ? why is Berbs getting the attention now that he wasn't 2 years ago if you reckon his only option was a "c**p" team like us ? Keane signed for a simple reason - MONEY, we will not go over £65k a week in wages, Liverpool offered him 90k, if Hull had offered him £100k he would have gone there, if another company offered you a 50% pay rise tomorrow you know and I know you would quit Argos in a flash we've wanted Berbatov sine he was 21, so you can stop wit that c**p and you're not in the Champions League, Liverpool are, so it was a nobrainer for Keane and CT, i could earn double my wages plastering, so don't you start insinuating $h!t about me, when you don't know me atall.
July 30, 200816 yr And your dislike of Dos Santos is pure sour grapes, might this be the reason perhaps ;) http://sport.setanta.com/en/Sport/News/Foo...n-Utd--Chelsea/ Dos Santos: I rejected United and Chelsea by Toby Davis, 30 June 2008 New Tottenham signing Giovani Dos Santos has revealed he turned down Manchester United and Chelsea to sign on the dotted line at White Hart Lane. The Mexican youngster was a summer signing from Barcelona in a deal which could rise to £8.6 million depending on appearances. The 19-year-old, who has been hailed as one of the brightest prospects in Europe, claimed he was not prepared to sit on the bench at Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge. He told Mundo Deportivo: “My decision is purely sport. I wanted to play more and Tottenham gave me this opportunity. “I also had good offers from Chelsea, Manchester United and Ajax, but I loved Juande Ramos’ ideas. I am going to do great things with the Spurs." Dos Santos hopes to hit the ground running whent the new campaign kicks off in August and has backed himself to be a big hit in The Premier League. He added: "I want to be the star of The Premier League next season. That is my objective and the reason I have left Barcelona for Tottenham. "I believe that my style of play can be better in England than it is in Spain, but my first challenge will be to adapt to The Premier League. "The coach Juande Ramos has been key in this move. I spoke with him to know his intentions and I am very excited about this new adventure. "Juande has said that next season could be very big for Tottenham and that was a big attraction for me." The Mexican also confirmed that Spurs were keen on bringing his brother Jonathan to North London as part of the deal. He explained: “Yes (Tottenham wanted to sign my brother), but 'Jona' will stay in Barcelona . It will be a way to keep connected to the club, which has given me so much.” Nani >>>> Dos Santos.
July 30, 200816 yr The point is though that Fergie and Arnesen both recognise his TALENT otherwise they would not have bid for him The 2 biggest club sides in the world atm both being after Dos Santos even if he was going to sit on their bench most of the first season shows that the guy has mega talent Wouldn't get anywhere near out first 11, not now, not ever
July 31, 200816 yr we've wanted Berbatov sine he was 21, so you can stop wit that c**p and you're not in the Champions League, Liverpool are, so it was a nobrainer for Keane and CT, i could earn double my wages plastering, so don't you start insinuating $h!t about me, when you don't know me atall. Well judging by the fact you are online when you were meant to be starting work at 7am maybe you need to go back to plastering if the Argos job is finished ;) As for Keane well he was at Spurs 6 years so why does he supposedly want CL football so bad now whereas he didn't before ? the dippers have been following him for years if the reports are to be believed So you are saying Berbatov turned you down for 7 years if you were so desperate for him from 21 ?
July 31, 200816 yr Wouldn't get anywhere near out first 11, not now, not ever You will be tapping him up via the media before the end of the season and you know it :)
July 31, 200816 yr Bentley :D I know a lot of football fans in general dislike him, but I always thought we should have kept hold of him. Let's hope he keeps his performances up so he can eventually become England's first choice right mid ^_^

July 31, 200816 yr You will be tapping him up via the media before the end of the season and you know it :) ahaha, mate... don't embarrass yourself with your outlandish comments on footballers you've never seen play
July 31, 200816 yr what has my life got to do with you? i'm gonna put a pic of courtney in my signature, just for you, chum and Manchester United are not desperados, we don't NEED players, they NEED us don't start thinking you made Berbatov who he is today, you didn't, he made YOU what you are today Go ahead, would be very fitting given recent events Enjoy the benefits office :) We put Berbs on the map, he was rotting away in the Bundesliga probably the least high profile of the European leagues yet now you, Milan, Barca for instance are after him so yes playing for a high profile club in the biggest league in the world put him on the map Fact of the matter is you can't afford Berbs, you are up to your eyeballs in debt and have to pay £32m for Tevez, Levy has stated the price you can have Berbs for and you haven't come up with the money As for Fergie telling Berbs to cause as much disruption as possible at Spurs in order to leave for a low price Levy has well and truly called his bluff on that one, he has told Berbs he is fining him 2 weeks wages for every hissy fit he throws (he refused to be a sub in the Norwich game for instance)
July 31, 200816 yr and Manchester United are not desperados, we don't NEED players, they NEED us Just like Gareth Bale needed you, just like Berbatov needed you, just like Dos Santos needed you
July 31, 200816 yr Mate, the joke's on you ENGLISH AND EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS, b**ch. what the f*** have you EVER won? Forest are bigger than you.......... and Dos Santos wasn't wanted by United, he's not got enough quality but cos The Sun 'claim' it must be the truth!!!! And Berbatov's played in the CL more times than your club on his own! playing in a final, really think you put him on the map? ahahahahhaha

And Berbatov's played in the CL more times than your club on his own! playing in a final, really think you put him on the map? ahahahahhaha Well why hasn't Fergie sued Dos Santos for libel for claiming in an interview with Setanta that Utd wanted him and he turned them down ? the fact he hasn't sued for libel shows there has to be an element of truth in it Dos Santos has also got 8 assists in 2 games so far, yes only friendlies against mickey mouse clubs but the point is he has been getting bigger rave reviews in these 2 games than any player I can remember since Klinsmann And if Barcelona couldn't wait to get shot of him why did they demand a 40% cut of any sell on fee ? because they know if he is ever sold it is going to be for a massive massive fee I will make a prediction now, can bump this thread up in a years time and ridicule me all you like if I am wrong but Modric and Dos Santos will be in the Premiership team of the season
July 31, 200816 yr ahhaha, if they KNOW it was going to be a massive transfer fee, why did they let him go? United sold Pique for 8m, and Barcelona slapped a 40m buyout clause on him, does it mean he's good? nope, it doesn't and ahahahha, you're so funny it's untrue :D only player you should be raving about that you've signed this season is Gomes.
July 31, 200816 yr Levy is off to Lisbon today Veloso to Spurs ??? Would love that more than any other signing this summer
July 31, 200816 yr lollllll next you'll say we wanted him when he whored himself to us, saying we tapped him up Fergie said 'why would we tap up a player we have no interest in?'
