well you should've sent Leona Daly shouldn't you? -_-

To be honest, I get the feeling we would have been doomed then as well. One look at the list of countries we were supposed to get votes from......I didn't really see any of them giving us 12 points :(

I just really really really really hope Ireland sends something like Iceland or Sweden next year.

It was another case of Scooch vs. Cyndi tbh. Leona Daly would've done well had she gone to Belgrade, and I'm pretty sure she would've qualified over Poland tonight.

after the final!

I see. I expect they put through Romania or Norway.

I'd say Romania went through automatically and comfortably tbh. Norway will have got the jury vote, if not them then probably Poland.

I wonder....do you think Finland got the Jury vote? It seems to me when jury vote is mentioned people automatically talk about the ballads. Maybe that's just me though, it would explain for finlands surprize qualification. I don't think anyone here had predicted it.

You never know the jury panel might be rockers at heart :P

Finland was quite a surprise! I almost fell off the couch when they announced it! I can't wait to see the overall results of the semi. Should be interesting!

When I said I think they put probably put through Norway or Romania I actually had "or maybe Finland, since it was such a shock" typed out, but I deleted it before posting because I thought they couldn't have possibly picked that over Belgium or Andorra. But now I think they might have done because Belgium is quite quirky and Andorra wasn't that good live.

I'd say there is absolutely no way that Finland qualified thanks to the back-up juries. I'd say it qualified simply because it was very original (compared to anything else there) and stood out. And even thou it was sung in Finnish the chorus is very catchy. I would think the juries would consist of people who actually like ESC -kinda music (the juries that in early/mid 90s loved Irish entries) and probably hated the Finnish entry. The best bet for jury qualification is IMO Israel followed by Romania. If it would have been only jury votes this time I think both Finland and Azerbaijan would have never qualified.

:w00t: So glad Israel qualified :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

I voted for it :D At first i really didn't know for which song to vote: Bosnia&Herzegovina or Israel. :cheer:

The order from most liked to least liked performances (didn't like - in red):

1. Israel - no comments, just GORGEOUS

2. Bosnia&Herzegovina - ooooh ADORE

3. Belgium - the song that makes you smile

4. Greece - Simply amazing

5. Norway - Maria looked absolutely great in this blue dress

6. Armenia - Though i missed one last half of the performance due to electricity been turned OFF for a while <_< I loved the voice, she's great singing live

7. Poland - Too much solariums  And incredible voice. She sang it to her husband - that's very sweet and i bought on it

8. Moldova - Not as i liked it much, but yeah, i changed my mind about this song ^_^

9. San Marino - Nice vocals, i should say.

10. Netherlands - I was thinking about smth else while listening to it

11. Azerbaijan - Didn't really like the performance, but i find this song still listenable

12. Russia - OMG, the ice is too small for you two guys  total $h!t

13. Andorra - What she was wearing on her head reminds me of vikings :kink:

14. Slovenia - Having men as dogs warned me

15. Romania - Bland ballad

16. Montenegro - Cute :kink: but that's not enough

17. Finland - definitely NOT Lordi, just a dull parody, what does it called? something like 'real men'

18. Ireland - omg, i am so greatful for the public didn't choose it :cheer:

19. Estonia - Pure $h!t, that's all

I am thinking either Poland or Israel got the jury vote. Finland is just too random to get it.

Nice that Poland finally qualified though. It makes up for those 11th place in 2005 and 2006. They were robbed in 2006 in my opinion. (Follow My Heart = )

Pleasantly surprised: Moldova

Not so pleasantly surprised: Andorra (Viking?)

Ich Troje   Adore this song too

on her head :kink:

I have to say that I LOVED last night  The opening few songs, apart from Israel and Moldova, were just awful, and Norway, Poland and Israel qualifying and Estonia & Ireland missing out have restored my faith in the voters of Europe  I was well shocked when Finland got through! I have to say I'm not surprised at Belgium not qualifying, her vocals were awful; and I did actually think Andorra stood a chance of getting through from that performance :( They got 10th I reckon, with Poland getting 11th/12th and the jury vote ^_^

I reckon after tonight's mediocre performance from Russia and Armenia's awful draw that we could well be heading back to Ukraine next year...or Oslo! :cheer:

I'd say Israel got the jury vote, or maybe Finland actually.

Romania were without a doubt the public vote and I wouldn't be surprised if they won the semi. It has a broad appeal. I'm quite shocked not many people saw it getting through last night.

the juries are not out of their minds to vote for Finland, or they are all in love with heavy metal  I imagine them singing along with the band
