Posted May 20, 200817 yr I've got my top 20! :yahoo: I actually managed to round it down to a perfect list of 36. It was so hard taking 16 away. After I’ve done my #1 I’ll have to write down the songs that just missed out - just so they don't feel left out... hope that’s ok! As much as i tried to put them in an order, ultimately they are just 20 of my favourite songs in a list. (but my #1 is my absolute favourite =D) Just a small thing - there is only 4 singles :o I'll post my list in a bit... :w00t:
May 20, 200817 yr Author Right, i hope you approve of my list :P haha I'll post a couple at a time... 20 - Love is waiting My first from the KM94 era. I absolutely love this, and it wasn't even on the album. It's so catchy and it makes me just wanna sing along. Totally wasted as a b-side. 19 - Enjoy Yourself I tried (but failed ;) ) to even out the songs between all eras, and this is one of my early favourites. There isn't anything that makes this particularly stand out from her other early stuff, but to me it just does. Worth the price of the album alone in my mind. 18 - Dancefloor I had loads of tracks from Fever which deserved a place on my list, but only a couple could make it :( . This was one of them. This was the first track that stood out when i first listened to the album when i bought it. It's been a favourite ever since. 17 - Loving Days I'm so upset. I absolutely love Body Language ( ) and i am so shocked that this is the only track that made my Top 20. Individually the tracks were all beaten by others in my top 20, but i should say that the album as a whole is amazing. I think that this is one of her best ballads. I love the start, I love the end, I love the lyrics, i love the music. It's just beautiful. Edited May 20, 200817 yr by Glyn
May 20, 200817 yr 1st two i have not heard yet nut the next two are both highlights from their albums i agree about loving days being her best ballad
May 20, 200817 yr I do like seeing what makes different people like Kylie, but these do take awhile to post and to read through!
May 20, 200817 yr love is waiting is ok but i dont like that much enjoy yourself i love ,i so wante dit as a single and is tsill one of my faves on that album still
May 20, 200817 yr Author 16 - Drunk My favourite era. When i first listened to this is was on a pair of crappy mono earphones, but when i listened to it on stereo and heard the alternative L/R/L/R chorus, well, i just fell in love with it. It's so noisy and fast. I had to remove loads of songs from IP to make room for others (IP is my obviously favourite album!) but this track would have made my top 20 regardless. :w00t: 15 - Confide in Me KM94 is my least favourite album. The songs on this album I either love or hate. There isn't any in between (like marmite :P ). Needless to say I love this. Her single choices with deconstruction tended to be a bit iffy, but this was perfect. A great new sound for Kylie. And I would love for her to revisit it someday. (I particularly love this perfumed live. The Big Brother remix is also brilliant.) 14 - BPM Kylie gives us some amazing b-sides and this is one of my favourites. When I got the 'Believe in you' single I actually listened to this more then the A side. I especially like the section from 2:20. I loved her Ultimate Kylie era (short as it was) and as much as I like X, I would have loved some more songs like this. 13 - Turn it Into Love If I'm honest I'd never heard this song properly until she performed it on the Showgirl Homecoming CD, (I hadn't got her first 4 albums at that point because they don't sell them anymore) But I have since bought them off eBay and this is my favourite off her first album. It's one of those songs that you only have to listen to once, and you can instantly remember it. Edited May 20, 200817 yr by Glyn
May 20, 200817 yr i love drunk an di also love turn it into love, but worthy single material that sadly werent bpm is nice song but i love i ebelieve in you and this song was alot waeker for me confid ein me i dont like at all,had it not been done by kylie i wouldnt have bought it in a million years
May 20, 200817 yr Author :D Glad you like them 12 - Like a Drug WOOOOO my absolute favourite off X. Again I’m a bit annoyed that there was no room for others off X (particularly The One, Stars and Nudity) but there you go. I instantly loved this when I heard it on the X-Mix track that was released before the album. This or 'The One' should definitely be the 4th single. 11 - Love Takes over Me My second from the IP era. This is like 'Too Far Pt. 2'. The little screeches she does are great. It's really creepy, and i'm so glad it saw the light of day after it was unforgivably left off the album. 10 - What Do I Have to Do? My favourite early dancy Kylie song. I prefer the extended version of her Greatest Remix Hits to the album version/Ultimate Kylie version. I always sing the echoes. I'm not sure what the cheering in the background has to do with the song, but it sounds great nonetheless. 9 - Finer Feelings My last PWL song on the list, and my favourite early ballad. I really wanted her to sing this on her X tour, maybe she'll stick it in before she gets to the UK. What I really like about this song are the strings (i'm a bit of a musical person, and i think the strings in the prechorus sound great.) I also like the Dub version on her Greatest Remix Hits. It's less drums and more Kylie and strings. Also the Ambient Reprise Instrumental. They both are perfect. Edited May 20, 200817 yr by Glyn
May 20, 200817 yr love takes over me ia good song nit the best song of that era but not the worst either finer feelings i like i didnt like it for a long time but its a kylie song i dont listen to that much, wonder why it never made ultimate kylie?? LIKE A drug i love, its catchy dancy and just brilliant and def among the stand out X tracks
May 20, 200817 yr Author 8 - In Your Eyes Dare I say - better then Can't Get You out of My Head. I didn't want to put all 4 singles from Fever on my list (despite the fact I love them all) so in the end I chose this as my favourite. (Sorry to the other songs :P ). 7 - Take Me With You My 3rd from IP. Like I said with Confide and BPM, this is another sound i would love for Kylie to return to one day. This song it over 9 minutes, and haunting all the way through. Totally worth the price of Hits+ for this track alone. It's a bit tribal and echoy and epic. It's a shame this side of Kylie is hidden away from everyone but the fans. Although this is the sort of track i think only fans would appreciate. (I'm actually listening to this now =D) 6 - Dangerous Game My favourite off of KM94. Absolutely beautiful song, unlike most of the album this actually has a melody that you can sing along to. It's aged a bit, but it's still one of her best in my eyes. 5 - Disco Down I absolutely love Light Years :yahoo: and again i had loads of tracks i wanted in my top 20. In this end i went with 2, both of which are in my top 5 (and neither of them are singles...) LY was the sort of album I really hoped X would be. Full of really dancy, campy, happy tunes with a couple of ballads thrown it. (I'm not criticising X by the way.) Absolute travesty that this wasn't a single. But what’s done is done...
May 20, 200817 yr love 3 of those songs but dangerous game is ok,its prob one of the highlight off km94 but that album was a dull kylie era for me that i didnt enjoy alot
May 21, 200817 yr Author 4 - Too Far This was so close to being #1, but I stuck it at 4. The best of all Kylies album opening tracks. Just like Love Takes over Me, this is really haunting. One of the few IP tracks that she tends to perform live. A great start to a great album. 3 - Cherry Bomb My absolute favourite song from this era. It’s just perfect (as were all 3 Wow b-sides. Those and King or Queen should have been on X.) I don’t know what it is about this song, but it’s just so downright amazing. Especially the ‘ooh ooh ooh’ bits... 2 - So Now Goodbye This and Disco Down are my absolute favourites from LY. The two of them were on repeat for ages when I got the album. It was difficult narrowing my favourite LY tracks down, so I’ll make a list after I’ve revealed my #1. The 'On a Night like This' tour version of this was great great great. 1 – Dreams Now this is my all time favourite Kylie track (and my 5th from IP!) I could listen to this for hours. I’m so glad that she chose to sing this on the Showgirl tour. I actually bought the ‘Confide in Me’ compilation CD before I got IP and this song was my instant favourite out of the 17 tracks.
