The comment I made about most famous music coming from the UK and America, its actaully a fact. If you name say Madonna or Charlotte Church or George Michael pretty much all the whole world will know who you are talking about! The guy who won eurovision is not well know apart from some of europe. He will not be known in 10 years time, hes a one hit wonder. Whereas names such as Brittney Spears and Amy Winehouse will never be forgotten and their names will always be remembered!! Even if they do end up going to an early grave!

Russia sent an artist who has won the MTV Europe award for best Russian act for the past three years running. An artist who has sold over 25 million records in 4 years, had 8 #1 singles in Russia, has worked with top R'N'B producers Timbaland, & Danja & top songwriter Ryan Tedder (Bleeding Love, Apologize) and duetted with Nelly Furtado. And has had #1 singles in 13 other different European countries before his current ESC winning song.

I think (us) British should stop being so xenophobic & insulting to other nations and cultures.

You wonder why the rest of the World hates us? Well this simple reason is that the UK (& to a lesser extent Western Europe) is living in the past with its imperialist/superiority attitude to other nations (as typified by Terry Wogan and some very nasty ignorant posts on the BBC's website) when it comes to Eurovision.

It has now been confirmed that Moscow will be the host city of the 2009 Eurovision, not St. Petersburg, as originally thought.

so will that be 11pm local time then or will the concert becoming to UK screens at 4.30pm on a saturday arvo  ?!?!?

^ That was my concern about the broadcast too, tigerboy!!

Maybe we should all go to Moscow, how about it y'all?!

I swear, the first time it's somewhere close to the UK (or wherever I am at that time), I'm SO there!!

I wasn't aware that Russia was a european country, oh yes it isn't!!! So has it become "The eurovision and a few extra countries for good measure contest??"

We broadcasted Eurovision at 11pm all the time, so i think 2009 won't be an exception ^_^ Serbia is 2 hours ahead of The UK, so it's alright.

Hooray Moscow :yahoo: I didn't like the posibility of St Petersburgh holding the contest personally (it's such a criminal city)

My faves were Portugal and Bosnia and Herzegovina... The Portugal song was more of a Eurovision song so I wanted it to win :( I guess it is really not about the best voice and/or lyrics. The contest has become a circus  (and Im not happy about our choice for this Eurovision! Kraljevi ulice had a far better song last year. Im surprised 75 Cents little ticky-ticker survived the schock of going to the finals  )
