Posted May 25, 200817 yr Is anyone else suffering from "post-contest deflation"? :( It sounds so ridiculous, but so many people here, myself included, spend months building up to the Eurovision, and now it's over! The build-up is so long-winded, especially now we have two semi-finals, and now today I just feel all blehhh and deflated. Eurovision was all that was keeping me going through this exam period! :arrr:
May 25, 200817 yr well, I'll listen to the songs for another month or two before I get bored of them, and then normal music returns! I always feel that June/July is a bit dire for music as Eurovision songs filter out of my chart and I haven't got good enough songs to replace them! However, I do think the quality was MUCH higher this year than last, and probably the best quality of songs since 2001 for me...I think I'll be listening to 5 or 6 of these songs for a few months yet
May 25, 200817 yr Author Yeah I can see myself listening to Iceland, Ukraine, Greece, Norway and the violin version of Russia for a while yet! So many good entries this year.
May 25, 200817 yr Author LOL Quite possibly the funniest thread ever <3 Says the one who shed THREE TEARS before he left college. (ms)
May 25, 200817 yr I know :nocheer: and after all the hype we still had a very predictable contest. (more or less anyway) I hope x factor hurries up to fill the empty space.
May 25, 200817 yr Says the one who shed THREE TEARS before he left college. (ms) Five actually (sm) Anyway I shan't spam up this forum with SMALLTALK YKNOW :smoke: PM me biatch :kink:
May 25, 200817 yr I've been listening to a few of the songs that did well today, but as of tomorrow I'll be going on a complete "Eurovision detox." Instead of just listening to all the songs until I get bored, I've been downloading alot of the proper music that I've missed out on, and I'm planning not to listen to a single Eurovision song for a good while. It's been 4 months and it's good to get it out of the system!
May 25, 200817 yr i used to feel this way about eurovision i would be all hyped up for weeks before hand and disappointed when its over but i havnt got excited about the eurovision for a few years now
May 26, 200817 yr I feel the same - I don't listen to songs as i did before Eurovision. I am already getting bored with them really :( Except Israel's one surely :heehee:
May 26, 200817 yr ill listen to them for about 2 weeks then get bored but i do feel that all the build up is great then 1 day after thats it
May 26, 200817 yr Yea I know what you mean. Im listening to the album now and not suprisingly the songs that didnt make the finals and those that didnt win are the best ones in my opinion! Just bump the Slovenia & Swedish songs on your sound system..dare you not to dance :P How could one of those NOT win!!...they are both so infectiously EURO :) Swedish news site writeup on Charlotte Perrelli in Eurovision 2008. Shes gracious in defeat and I totally agree with what she said: The people simply wanted something else. We didn't have what they wanted. It is that simple http://www.thelocal.se/11994/20080525/ Edited May 26, 200817 yr by KatanaDV20
May 26, 200817 yr Author If only Wogan could have that sort of opinion. :manson: As if people are gonna want to watch a skinny little man dancing around singing a bland 80s style number?
May 26, 200817 yr Author oh, I thought you liked Even If now David  I kinda do. :( But it's still $h!t!
May 27, 200817 yr I'm suffering from it. Despite having that feeling that Russia would win and we'd come near the bottom.
May 27, 200817 yr LOL Quite possibly the funniest thread ever <3 I actually tend to agree. Focus on something a bit more SENSIBLE Daffs, like holidays or summat.

Eurovision was all that was keeping me going through this exam period! :arrr: Well even tho im not gonna spend months psyching myself up in the run up to Eurovision - yeah the final was a bit of an anti-climax - actually last night's Britain's Got Talent was a much better competition - and actually much more camp as well
May 27, 200817 yr Author I actually tend to agree. Focus on something a bit more SENSIBLE Daffs, like holidays or summat. I'm over it now biatch. And I'm going on holiday in less than four weeks. :w00t:
