A friend of mine has just come back from a 6 month holiday Australia, New Zealand, USA .. and brought me back a cracking Jailhouse Rock poster and the new WB DVD of Charro!

Now I already have the old grainy DVD that’s been around for ages and I notice that this DVD (the old one) is timed at 96 minutes, the new one at 97 mins and according to the "For CD Lovers Only" website they have it at 98 mins and a book Elvis the Hollywood Years has it at 93! It might not seem like a lot but a couple of minutes missing from a film can contain some important scenes. (The Beatles Yellow Submarine was missing the song Hey Bulldog for years!).

 

My friend watched the new DVD while he was abroad and noticed that the (not to be too pervvy) partial nude scene was missing.

 

So I guess my question is... what is the running time of Charro and are we being cheated out of the full film? Also is this happening on other Elvis releases.

 

Sounds like you have a great friend, Martin As far as I know and everywhere I've checked, the running time of Charro! is 98 minutes. It really is puzzling, will try and find out more.
