June 26, 200817 yr Author I really fancy Russia tonight... they upped their game against Holland and Spain seem to be lacking something recently I think Russia will also have more passion for it... wanting it more does make a difference
June 26, 200817 yr This is getting boring... We're in 2008, and they loose the trasmission <_< xox. It makes you wonder if it would have happened had the Euro 2008 TV rights had been sold through the EBU - has in previous tournaments - rather than SportFive. (After all, the EBU record one of the Eurovision rehearsals and transmit that at the same time as the actual show so that they have something to fall back on in case something happens.) Also, the minute by minute report on the Guardian's website is pretty funny as well. Especially when it gets to 58 mins (when the first blackout started). Apparently, SRG in Switzerland and Al-Jazeera were the only networks not to lose the coverage - so anywhere up to 81 (!) networks lost the feed. I hope something happens to SportFive because of this c**k-up.
June 26, 200817 yr Spain are in the final, no way back for Russia now, Spain were the better side tonight. Russians just just couldn't find the energy tonight.
June 26, 200817 yr No suprise really. Spain are an extremely good side and they really showed their class tonight. I definitely think they'll win the whole tournament now. If Arshavin moves the to the Premier League too he'll never make it. I always thought in the back of mind, that he wouldn't be suited to the Premier League, but tonight just proved it for me. Looked as flat as a pancake. He's much more suited to Barcelona... him, Henry and Messi should be a realy good combination.
June 26, 200817 yr Arshavin > Man City, watch this space......... Also, i'd start Guiza before Torres ;)
June 26, 200817 yr Arshavin won't go to Man City imo. If he was gonna leave Zenit he'd only leave it for a TOP club. I don't see how he'd further is career at Man City, I really don't. I still think he'll end up at Barcelona.
June 26, 200817 yr Not good enough, only club that'd pay him silly wages is City, plus they were linked with him in January he'll be their 'star' signing, and he will flop badly, just like Modric will
June 26, 200817 yr He wouldn't go to Man City though. He already plays for a better club playing in better European Competition and earns a lot anyway. If he doesn't move to a real top club any move will be a step backwards which I'm sure he won't be willing to take...

However you dress it up Zenit ARE NOT a bigger club than Manchester City, it's not even close before this season had you heard of the club? City aren't the rubbing rags they once were, Corluka's top class and he plays for City, they have Johnson, Sturridge, Elano, Petrov, Jo potentially, Richards/Dunne... And Russian league's are poor, it's like when players move from PSV to play for teams like Spurs, it's simply a better league and challenge

I'm sure he's their captain(?), he's their highest wage earner and he just won the UEFA Cup with them. There's no way he'd leave that club for Man City. I know Man City have good financial backing, but there's no way they'd be able to pull off both the signings of Arshavin and Ronaldinhio. The latter maybe, but if Arshavin leaves (which he will do) then he'll only leave to Arsenal, Chelsea or Barcelona (or some club of a similar heritage).
June 27, 200817 yr Asrhavin worth £25 million? He isn't on last night's performance. One performance doesn't make him a bad player though. Ronaldo, Zidane etc. have had countless bad performances. He'll go for around £20m imo, and even then it'll take something special for him to be prized away from his boyhood club. Barcelona have already made an approach already and if that's the case then no matter how much money any other club offers, I expect he'll join Barca.
June 27, 200817 yr Author GERMANY FOR THE WIN THey deserve it, they've played the best the entire tournament ^_^
June 27, 200817 yr GERMANY FOR THE WIN THey deserve it, they've played the best the entire tournament ^_^ Holland did as well, but did not get thru -_- To be honest I don't care who wins on the night, but its nice for Spain to get some silverware, its been a long 24 years since they won it.
