Holland played a beautiful game of football they had everything, ball possession, the lot, England please take note. 2 excellent goals from a break and 1 debatable, Italy have lost their spark, they need to win the next two games for them to qualify, to be honest France will beat them I can't see them qualifying. That was the best game of the tournament so far.

 

Does anybody know the final score from the French game, I heard it was a bit of a bored, a bit like watching paint dry.

I still think and Italy - Germany final. Italy started the way the Italians always do, they weren't even bad, just incredibly unlucky and every ricochet, decision and deflection went Holland's way. They could have played till tomorrow night and still not scored. First goal was an appalling decision, the Final officials certainly won't be from Sveden.

 

The Dutch looked good, but I'm really not sure they can keep up like that for another 5 games. You need to grow and go from strength to stregth to win a major tournament. I still think Croatia and Italy are fairly well placed with the Dutch, Germans and Portgugese behind.

 

I thought Italy looked good too, I definitely think they'll go through. I'm pretty sure they should be able to get past Romania easily enough. Italy aren't the most attacking team in the world, so Romania won't be able to use the counter attack as well.

 

Holland played very well today though, they don't have the best team on paper but they've got such a good team spirit, every player works for each other.

On dutch telly they said the refs had another look at it and its wasnt offside cause of an italian defender ;)

What a fantastic game of football, it was what the competition had been missing so far. France play Italy in the final group game, so that's likely to be a crucial one.

 

I think Italy have been exposed now as needing new blood - the average age of the team last night was 31 years and 52 days (31 days younger than me I just worked out!) whereas Holland had a great combination of experience (Van Nistelrooy, Van Bronckhorst, Van Der Sar) with youngsters and those coming into their prime (Schneider, Van Der Vaart etc). They didn't even have Arjen Robben playing!

Robben should be playing again on Friday. He was injured last night.

Amazingly, only Materrazzi complained when it was given!

 

As for the Dutch - we are so f***ed when Scotland play them in the WC qualifiers.

Spain look good. Russia have had their chances but Spain have that extra bit of quality and they've by far the best front line at the tournament. Villa took both his goals very well.

Hmmm, just two years ago at the World Cup Spain scored 4 in their opening game in a game against a fancied outside European team. They went on to get knocked out in the second round to a French team who'd unconvincigly drawn their opening game 0-0 agaist European oppostion they were expected to beat.

Russia aren't that bad a team, it's just their defence is absolutely awful. Unless they come up with a quick solution to sort it out, if they come up against any team that has a decent front line than they're screwed, and Spain have the best front line in the competition which showed today.

The Spanish match was quite entertaining, I like to see them to go all the way, they are a great team to watch. Just hope they don't lose the reminder of their matches.

 

Sweden look good, but for some reason I prefer Holland to Sweden.

 

I like to see a Holland vs Spain final, but I think Germany will be with a shout for the final as well.

 

Holland, Spain, Czech Republic and Germany have had great matches, I been pleased with any of these 4 teams in the final.

I think the Czech's were ver ordinary, nothing special about them at all, Koller is past it, they're still missing Nedved and Rosicky s a huge loss.

 

I've still got a feeling Germany and Italy will be in the final.

 

Tonights game was a complete dullfest but it wasn't going to be anything other than that. Sweden scord the only way you seem to be able to score past greece, with a wondergoal and then buried them with a bit of luck when they were regrouping from 3 at the back to 2 hence the massive gaping hole for Ljungberg.

I still love how a lot of people said that France would beat Switzerland. I was one of the few (and I was the only one in the office) who said they would draw. And I only said that 'cos they were in the same qualifying group and neither team won either game.

Just why do we have to have so many matches on TV when there are no British countries involved.

When British countries are in it I watch matches featuring these countries , but now there are no British countries in it, I just couldn't be bothered watching as i've no interest in it. :(

For me it's just overkill.

There are people from countries in the Euro that DO want to watch the matches... And English people who are not watching the Euro just cos England aint in it are just spoilt brats -_-
