Swedish Eric Prydz moves into pole position with “Pjanoo” which is his third number one on the dfc after “Call On Me” in 2004 and “Proper Education” in 2006. In other words all his singles have topped the dfc so far. After an impressive six weeks on the top, David Guetta steps down a notch and settles for first runner up this week.

Last week we had one new entry which was based on a dfc classic and the case is even so this week. Micky Modelle has updated one of Samantha Mumba`s singles “Gotta Tell You” which was actually a bubbler on the dfc on the chart of December 2, 2000. Micky and Samantha are both debutants on this chart in at number 8.

Omg are you joking? Cant believe the original Gotta Tell You was a bubbler, its a pure pop song.

As for Chicane, I remember they were played regularly during the day on shows like Bytesize, Select, Non Stop Hits, Top Selection, back when dance was popular on MTV Europe. Now all you can hope for is for them to chart on DFC or played on Partyzone.

This week sees French DJ David Guetta reclaiming the throne and thus scores his second biggest hit on the dfc with "Tomorrow Can`t Wait" as Eric Prydz takes silver.

There`s generally a thick line between R `n`B and dance but this year this line seems to have been broken as this weeks new entry is from yet another British R ´n´ B act, Skepta with "Rolex Sweep" after T2 "Heartbroken", H Two O "What`s It Gonna Be", Wiley "Wearing My Rolex", Wideboys "Daddy-O" etc and these were all hits. Now can Skepta repeat their success? Only time can tell so for now we welcome him in at number 9.

I agree, unfortunately dance music isn`t so popular on todays MTV as it used to be. The only show one can depend on to see some old dance videos is Party Zone, or Party Mode as they call it here. However even this show is also starting to be downsized and the show is becoming ever commercial in that they waste precious dance time playing todays hits.

Those songs arent R&B though, they're garage, which is considered to be part of both electronica and urban genres, so I understand why they're charting.

Anyway, I guess dance music is not as popular in the European charts anymore, and thats why MTV wont play it.

There is yet again only one new entry this week on the dfc and it`s from Platnum whom we know from their collaboration with H Two O earlier this year with their hit "What`s It Gonna Be". They`ve sampled "Love Shy" and at least managed to enter the chart unlike Kristine Blond in late 2000.

Well, what can we say about this weeks chart...if not congratulate Eric Prydz on making his biggest dfc hit with "Pjanoo" by spending 4 weeks on the number one spot. We also congratulate Axwell for spending the longest time on the peak of number 3; now 5 weeks altogether.

Its becoming a popular trend this year in sampling or updating old songs when making dance music. The two new entries of the week are of this sort. The first one is from Sharam (member of the duo Deep Dish who gave us their biggest dfc hit "Say Hello" in 2005) who has Daniel Bedingfield by his side when mixing the latters "If You`re Not The One" from 2002. The next new entry sees a comeback for Sash! who have been absent from this chart for five years. They last visited the dfc; very shortly in 2003 with "I Believe". Now there back by updating one of their biggest hits from the 90`s "Encore Une Fois" with the help of Stunt. The chart contains two more covers/updates by Platnum and Chicane and we`ve even lost one of this kind by Micky Modelle. Skepta slides down three spaces back to number 7 and the song is very similar to Wiley`s earlier hit "Wearing My Rolex". Armin Van Buuren on the other hand boosts up four spaces to 5 and if you`ve seen the video for "In And Out Of Love" you´ll notice similarities to Ne-Yo`s "Closer", talk of not being original.

Platnum are racing upwards in the chart but can they end Eric`s victory as soon as next week? Stay tuned for next weeks chart.

what are Sash's peaks in the DFC chart?

We`ll it`s a bit hard to tell but if memory serves me, Sash!`s highest peaks are in the late 90`s where they possibly made top 5 dfc hits with "Encore Une Fois", "Stay" and "Mysterious Times".

Its 2008 and it seems it`s yet again time for the Guru. After his success with "Infinity" a popular hit in 1990, Paul Walden is back under the name Guru Josh Project to update his hit and goes straight in at number 2 with "Infinity 2008". Artists entering this high in the chart have in the past been known to top this chart just like "Beautiful liar" and "Tocas Miracle 2008" did so its just a matter of time. In at number 7, we have debutants from Ben DJ and Sushy entering with "Me & Myself".

This weeks new entry sneaks in at 10 and is from Steve Mac with "Paddy´s Revenge". Eric Prydz hasen`t moved from the top yet but a rather unusual move has occured in the chart as David Guetta bounces up into the top 3 after falling so heavily last week. This sort of move hasen`t happened in the top 10 and it`s consequences could be very interesting.
