Posted May 29, 200817 yr a year or so on from lee hazelwoods death, lets have another tread on these two atrists who made some damn decent music! this thread also links in with 2 other current ones... 'strange tracks' ,... 'some velvet morning' is a right weird one, but i love it! plus nancy sinatra has been overlooked in the 'purest female vocal' thread... she has a very good voice :) some velvet morning Sb-SVPJM4L4
May 29, 200817 yr You just can't beat it. I remember being at the Connect festival last year and a little tired trying to get to sleep in my tent. The peeps next to me had seemingly all compiled a CD of their favourite tracks and I remember this coming on. If I hadn't been half naked in my sleeping bag I'd have gone out and shaken their hands. For a modern equivalent, albeit not quite in the same league, check out the new album from Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan!
May 30, 200817 yr I Loved Jackson, Ladybird and Did You Ever. I also love some of Nancy's solo stuff These Boot Are Made For Walkin' - How Does That Grab You Darlin' - Sugar Town
May 30, 200817 yr Author I Loved Jackson, Ladybird and Did You Ever. I also love some of Nancy's solo stuff These Boot Are Made For Walkin' - How Does That Grab You Darlin' - Sugar Town my fav nancy solo track was a non hit from 66.... 'lightning's girl'. ill look it up on youtube later, see if its there.
May 30, 200817 yr I LOVE their Duets! I like 'Summer Wine', 'Some Velvet Morning', 'Sand', 'Lady Bird', 'Jackson', & 'Sundown Sundown' - which has such dramatic, over the top orchestration, that it sounds like it should be a Theme to a Clint Eastwood Western!
May 30, 200817 yr For me you just can't beat: Ib_eW9VSUwM Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood - Summer Wine (1967)

WONDERFULLY ott!!! lol.
