Another bumper bunch of charts, for late Friday. The usual bunch of Films, DVDs, Albums, a flashback to 1983, and finally Mr Dave Richard Taylor, will slip in the Singles top 50 (bang up todate) when he gets back from his weekly Hospital stint.

Let`s start, with the top films this week...

w/k ending 6th Jun 2008

01 NE INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL

02 02 WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS

03 01 IRON MAN

04 03 FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL

05 04 NIM`S ISLAND

06 05 SPEED RACER

07 06 MADE OF HONOR

08 07 DOOMSDAY

09 09 SUKKAR BANAT

10 08 IN BRUGES

The new INDIANA JONES takes in £12,227,799 in one week! Having travelled into the cinema, on Wednesday I heard a couple saying, that they must watch this new SUCK A BANANA film! No wonder SUKKAR BANAT sticks this week! (The top films are compiled by Screen International, for UK Box Office)

Here are this week`s top dvd films...

01 01 PS I LOVE YOU

02 NE SWEENEY TODD DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET

03 NE BEE MOVIE

04 02 ALIEN VS PREDATOR REQUIEM

05 03 I AM LEGEND

06 04 GOLDEN COMPASS

07 07 RUN FAT BOY RUN

08 05 CHARLIE WILSON`S WAR

09 10 STARDUST

10 06 IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH

Now this week, more people rented PS I LOVE YOU, than actually bought it. SWEENEY TODD was the most "buy for keeps" dvd, with a combined total of renters/buyers standing at 59,319. (The top dvds are compiled by a combination of mrib/Blockbuster rentals).

Here are the top 20 albums, this week...

01 NE HERE I STAND - USHER

02 03 ROCKFERRY - DUFFY

03 05 MINISTRY OF SOUND PRESENTS CHILLED 91 - 08 - VARIOUS

04 02 HOME BEFORE DARK - NEIL DIAMOND

05 NE EMERGENCY - PIGEON DETECTIVES

06 01 WE STARTED NOTHING - TING TINGS

07 04 JUMPING ALL OVER THE WORLD - SCOOTER

08 06 R + B COLLECTION SPRING 2008 - VARIOUS

09 07 IN SILICO - PENDULUM

10 10 CLUBLAND CLASSIX - VARIOUS

17 09 HARD CANDY - MADONNA

18 NE SEX AND THE CITY - OST/VARIOUS

19 19 BACK TO BLACK - AMY WINEHOUSE

20 17 DAVE PEARCE TRANCE ANTHEMS - VARIOUS

At one point the CHILLED compilation, was even outselling USHER, and DUFFY (That was early on). Though today, USHER ends up 12,000 ahead of DUFFY...SEX AND THE CITY, being the biggest Soundtrack (top film next week?) (The album chart is compiled by stores, and download sites up to, and including Wednesday night).

Remember the top albums, this week in 1983?

18 16 SWEET DREAMS - EURYTHMICS

19 18 FINAL CUT - PINK FLOYD

20 24 WHAMMY - B-52`S

SPANDAU BALLET reigning supreme in 83. HEAVEN 17, a close 2nd, and THRILLER, a close 3rd (rather like this week`s album chart). DAVID BOWIE was just off the number one single (with LET`S DANCE) and the album, of the same name stuck at 4. IRON MAIDEN doing well. NEW ORDER with BLUE MONDAY (as a 12" single only). The album going down, here. IMAGINATION`s singles were beginning to dry up, chartwise...but the album was doing good. BOB MARLET passed away in 1981, but became one of the biggest reggae acts, of the 80s. The CREATURES, were more or less SIOUXIE AND THE BANSHEES (covering such songs, as the way old "RIGHT NOW"). B-52`s, had the album "WHAMMY", but singles in 1983 were almost non-existent. Only one compilation in the top 20..a recent hits comp, "CHART ENCOUNTERS OF THE HIT KIND". The only other compilation, in the top 30 was "THE LAUGHTER AND TEARS COLLECTION", a love collection.

The singles in 1983...

40 NE THE HEAT IS ON - AGNETHA FALTSKOG

POLICE knocked off SPANDAU BALLET in 1983 (but they were not arrested!) THE BEAT sang ANDY WILLIAMS top 3 hit from 63, JO BOXERS folowed up BOXER BEAT, HEAVEN 17 finally scored a big hit (after a 1981 flop). STYLE COUNCIL had their 2nd toptenner, after "SPEAK LIKE A CHILD", So PAUL WELLER was happy (rather like this week). Shall I state, the "bleeding obvious", with MAN UTD?! As Reading, drop from the Premiership...No! (At least JOHN MADEJSKI, can hold on to his wallet). PHIL FEARON had his first biggy, with GALAXY..Soul all over the place, with GEORGE BENSON, as well as smooth jazzy type with AL JAREAU. FUN BOY THREE sang a GO GO`s earlier hit (the GO GO`s featured a young BELINDA CARLISLE, of course). FORREST covered the DETROIT EMERALDS 1973 and 77 hit (also covered by SHAKIN` STEVENS in 1987, among others). Dance hits from D TRAIN, and MTUME. DAVID JOSEPH had a 2nd hit (away from 70s outfit HI TENSION). HALL AND OATES "FAMILY MAN" was written by MIKE OLDFIELD. ALTERED IMAGES (and the lovely CLARE GROGAN) were drying up. MODERN ROMANCE were struggling, but did revive themselves, for another top ten hit, later in 1983. AGNETHA FALTSKOG (the blonde from ABBA) tried solo, and just a couple of years back covered a CILLA BLACK hit "IF I THOUGHT YOU`D EVER CHANGE YOUR MIND". Finally ROBERT WYATT was back in the singles chart, following a 1974 rendition of the MONKEES/NEIL DIAMOND`s "I`M A BELIEVER". (The vintage charts, were compiled by MRIB). with special thanks to Colin, (as the proofreader, and spellchecker). Thanks Col!!

Hang On Dave will hopefully come in pretty soon, to complete the latest single/track chart (brought up todate, with Chart Show TV`s chart, but with today`s added sales).

So, stick with it...

Thanks Trevs. (Lucky I am lodging with him, and his family). Easy drive, back down the road. Before I go on, does anyone know what the follow up single to Matthew Wilder`s 1984 single "Break My Stride" was? I had a request/query at the hospital, and I couldn`t answer it. ;) So Robbie, or anyone else, any idea?

So, straight to it.

) Position without downloads alone. Without downloads alone, Guillemots would be 38, Rihanna (Don`t Stop The Music) would be 39, and Mariah Carey at 40.

= Is the position on Chart Show tv`s Top 40. I still can`t believe Ashlee Simpson, does not feature on Chart Show`s playlist!

(The top 50, is compiled from added sales, minus airplay, to Chart Show tv`s chart, broadcasted on Saturdays 3-6.30pm).

2 weeks, for RIHANNA (this week selling just under 4,000 more than TING TINGS). On the other hand, TING TINGS sale 6,000 more than ADELE. KARAMOIRA the Greek Eurovision entry, from last Saturday actually started the week in the top 40, but as the end of the week comes around, she falls out of the top 70 :o Other hits outer top 50, wise: SCOOTER and the GUILLEMOTS are just outside the 50. Down goes ADELE (COLD SHOULDER), GIRLS ALOUD, BRITNEY SPEARS, and KOOKS. MYSTERY JETS are 57. NEIL DIAMOND drops at 58, FERGIE`s newie is 59, GUSTO go down at 60, JESSIE MCCARTNEY is in the top 70, with DAVID COOK. and IDIE ARIE. ONE REPUBLIC`s newie creeps in to the top 75. ALANIS MORRISETTE sneaks in outside the top 75. GALWAY GIRLS (EARL and SHANNON) is another bubbler outside the 75. Isn`t it a coincidence, that KYLIE had her 40th birthday in the week, and tonight she is number 40! Adding all those sales on, messes your head, but I got it correct eventually!

Next week look out for new physicals from: MORRISEY, R.E.M, ELBOW, SARA BAREILLES, YETI, KAT DELUNA, LIL` WAYNE, MISSY ELLIOT, MYSTERY JETS. ONE REPUBLIC, SEAN KINGSTON, and TOM BAXTER.

New Albums come from: PAUL WELLER, ZUTONS, GUNS N` ROSES, TOM PETTY, RADIOHEAD, PAUL SIMON, EDDIE COCHRAN, ALPHABEAT, DARYL HALL, ANDY ABRAHAM, RIHANNA (re-works GOOD GIRL GONE BAD with added tracks), DISTURBED, OPETH, ALANIS MORRISETTE, and top compilations come via: CLUBBERS GUIDE SUMMER 2008, 101 ROCK N` ROLL HITS, HED KANDI SERVED CHILLED, SPACE IBIZA 2008, and PETE TONG`s WONDERLAND.

Also next week, Rihanna could hold on a-top the singles, for a third week, but Paul Weller, is likely to take the top album (if Clubbers Guide Summer 08 doesn`t take it).

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL CHART.....(It is based on Chart Show tv`s Singles chart, but does not include Airplay. It is brought up to date (late Friday), by added info from stores across Britain.

Paul Weller #1 on physicals :o I knew his 7 inch was selling quite well, but I see the track has fallen a bit, on the other chart.

And what's the story with Mint Royale

Suprised to see Paul Weller number 1 on physical.

Big fall for Ashlee, a shame.

The only thing, that seems to connect to Mint Royal, is that it was recently featured heavily in an Australian tv dance show. A bit like that Come Dancing thing, of ours. But can that be the reason it is being downloaded again (with 3 mixes available), over here?

Originally, a hit in early 2006. It doesn`t seem that long ago. Funnily, a physical copy of it, is still available on Amazon.co.uk.

A quick Saturday afternoon update (from HMV), shows that Gabriella is likely to swap places, with Estelle.

Queen`s advert based re-hash of "Don`t Stop Me Now", is heading to the top 40, for tomorrow. When Kylie, may fall out.

Flo Rida (Elevator), may fall from the top 50, and Adele (Cold Shoulder) may go back in.

No this is why...... it is huge:

George Sampson (Dancer on Britain's Got Talent (3rd fav to win tonight's Final) Mint Royale - Singing In The Rain

I see. Well, I was close with a TV connection! Either way, I don`t watch Britain`s Got Talent and neither would I watch a dancing show, in Australia, too busy!

How about a re-release of Sheila B. Devotion`s, 1978 hit?! <_<

thanks for the charts!

The follow up to Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder was the forgotten "The Kid's American". In fact, so forgotten that I can't even remember it either...

chart run: entered Gallup chart 24/03/84 - 93-OUT

It did better in the US, reaching #33 and over there he had one further hit, Bouncing Off The Wall which reached #52 in the same year. Break My Stride reached #5 in the US.

thanks for the charts!

Thanks Robbie! This chap at the hospital, obviously did well to remember that Matthew actually had more than the one single! I was actually thinking that the Tim Finn flop, "A Fraction To Much Friction", sounded much like Matthew, at the time. I remember the Tim Finn Euro-hit being played a lot on Radio 2 (mainly the David Hamilton drive-time show).

Don`t ever remember hearing either of Matthew`s other attempts! Difficult thing now, is to actually try and find either, of the other 2 singles, for that bloke! :)
