They wanted to see the show, so, hopefully, they will. How underserved. I thought Margaret Martin's efforts were really goodand the show brilliant. I hope they do get to see - it would be such a shame to miss it.

I think school closes earlier in US. They often have three months holiday. I know a friend of mine's son has his graduation today

I know they finish in June - just not what date.

Different for different states and I suppose different schools....on a web site I use it says anything from late May to mid June

Well, we'll see in a couple of weeks.

The news will probably just be sinking in today for Darius and the rest of the people in GWTW. They had to do 2 shows yesterday so they won't have had time to think about it.

 

I'm desperately hoping to find an opening to come down.

 

They're a company of professionals and I think they'll all raise their heads and raise the roof in their final performances.

 

 

I do hope you manage to make it down BT. I can't believe that we've only another two weeks to see it and Darius before yet another Darius drought.

 

The only glimmer of light is that maybe now, he'll concentrate on the album.

Me too, but no amount of wishing will change the situation.

 

Darius took on an amazing challenge for him and achieved it with merit, anything else was out of his hands. He did everything the producers and director asked him to do brilliantly. When he appeared on TV, he promoted the show well. What else could he do as an actor?

 

I hope the experience of the show closing so abruptly will not put Darius off live theatre because it's obvious to any observer that the stage is where he should be. He comes alive on there and absolutely commands it - "bestrides it like a colossus."

I would also much rather wait and have GWTW run until September, but that's not reality at the moment. With hindsight they should have had a much longer period before the first night to work through problems and revise the script.

Just more promotion would bhelp. other shows are plastered everywhere.

According to WOS there was a fire at the theatre last night in the auditorium and the show didnt finish.

Goes to show the public get what they deserve..more reality show rubbish, I dispair, I would add the show is like casting pearls before swine, but the people who have seen the finalised show have really appreciated it, I have seen some great reviews on some forums from people who didnt think they would like it but loved it,

I know the 7th would hae probably been the last time I wuld have seen the show anyway but its so unfair!!!! I pray this will leve hin free to audition for other roles with the glowing reviews and experience aquired.

 

But what would stretch him? Apart from Phantom and Les Mis, I can't think of anythink else.

There's nothing else that I can think of.

 

Right now I think Darius should be following up those great notices with other acting work here in the UK but not tying himself down to something as time consuming as MT, so he can also work on his album. He'd allocated until the end of September for acting so IMHO he should pursue it until then.

 

Darius has tremendous ability and I think much of it is still untapped but he really needs to be more high profile to show it. Here in the UK, it's not theatre but television which is the ideal media for that.

 

One singing appearance by Ray Shell, Natasha Yvette Williams and Jina Burrowes or Darius and Jill on a prime TV slot would have done more for GWTW than all the rest of the publicity put together.

 

TV acting is different from stage acting so he could afford to learn on the job again by taking smaller roles in popular series.

last time I went to GWTW, they didn't even attempt to set fire to the flag. They had two men running around waving torches. It seems to either refuse to light or make them panic by it running up the flag extra quick.

I was reading another forum, where Darius is mentioned in a good light(yet again) and poeple have mentioned hin making a good Sykes in Oliver..

from what I have ben rading on different forums people have been very impressed with Darius, even admitting htey were wrong to doubt the casting before seeing him - I even saw that sort of post on a Teachers forum, so he is opening a lot of eyes, hopefully if the powers that be saw him too it will make a mark.
