9. Jessica Garlick - Come Back

Country: United Kingdom

Year: 2002

Total points: 111

Final placing: 3rd out of 24

Continuing with the British theme, this one's our finest hour of the century so far. Perhaps the fact that Jessica had to perform from second position actually prevented her from doing better, I guess we'll never know though! It was a great finish though for Jessica, and she was second favourite after Sahlene of Estonia before the voting began. Why can't we send anything as good as this again though? :( We really need to pull it out of the bag next year and scrap the whole 'Making Your Mind Up' idea... Go back to 'Song for Europe' on a Sunday afternoon when about two million people tune in and get the voice of the REAL Eurovision fan, not the Saturday night couch potatoes...

8. Jalisse - Fiumi Di Parole

Country: Italy

Year: 1997

Total points: 114

Final placing: 4th out of 25

This will probably come as a bit of a surprise to many of you, but I think this song is just sublime. If Italy can produce songs as good as this, they really need to get their arses back in the Eurovision! 1997 was the last time Italy competed in the competition, and 'Fiumi Di Parole' was actually third favourite to win, after the United Kingdom and Ireland, but Italy had already stated their intention to withdraw before the contest. So had this won, I don't know what they would've done! Jalisse actually tried to come back this year for San Marino, but they chose that hideous "rock" outfit instead...

7. Shiri Maymon - Time to Say Goodbye

Country: Israel

Year: 2005

Total points: 154

Final placing: 4th out of 24

A bit more proof that political voting doesn't harm countries who are widely hated... take note Wogan. -_- Israel's best finish this century comes courtesy of the fantastic 'Time to Say Goodbye' by Shiri Maymon. I think the translation of the Israeli version is actually 'The Silence That Remains', but the English version is 'Time to Say Goodbye'. ^_^ Infectuous song, and it's Israel's highest entry on my chart. ^_^

6. Natasha St-Pier - All I Have Is My Soul

Country: France

Year: 2001

Total points: 142

Final placing: 4th out of 23

This song is just amazing. This really did deserve to do better than 50 points behind the leader tbh, and it was the first time that English had been heard in a French entry... now they're entering almost entirely English songs! Kudos to France though for actually getting their act together and sending such a decent song; they'd had a dismal run from 1998-2000, and they'd not finished higher than fourth since Carola pipped them to the post in 1991. Best French entry ever in my opinion, well, from what I've heard of theirs!

10. Daz Sampson - Teenage Life

Country: United Kingdom

Year: 2006

Total points: 25

Final placing: 19th out of 24

Oh God, looking back this is so cringeworthy. :( What's all this "rat-a-tat-tat" $h!t all about?! But I love it. Had Daz been a bit better presented and not some old looking p****, I think this song would've done quite a bit better. It's a good song when you listen to it though imo, perhaps discounting the performance, and I often play it throughout the year. ^_^ All my mates love it as well, which is a bonus! ^_^ Daz was actually one of the pre-contest favourites as well, bizarrely. :o

Teenage Life is just amazing...ten times better than Scooch  always loved Daz's cheesy music with Bus Stop, Uniting Nations and Rikki and Daz...where the hell has he gone now though??? the curse of Eurovision strikes again :o

Amazing track...oddly, this is my family's favourite ESC track ever, I converted them all to love it in 2001 :w00t: most of the songs from 2001 were just sublime though

Cringetastic :( We should've sent Kym Marsh

Kym's track was boring...City Chix was where it was really at  All About You even made top ten in my chart :o had it been selected it could have gone top 15, but then again, I can't remember how well they sang live:

Good choice and placing for Maria and Zeljko!

It's all very well until he starts to sing :smoke: And is that the dude that co-hosted this years contest?

Oh... :drama:

5. Eurobandið - This Is My Life

Country: Iceland

Year: 2008

Total points: 64

Final placing: 14th out of 25

Oh what a song this is. It would've actually been a disaster had this not gone through to the final, following the fantastic semi-final performance. :D It has everything that a good Eurovision song needs - good voices, great performance and a bizarrely amazing tune. I'll be loving this song for some years to come I think! :D

4. Gina G - Ooh Aah... Just a Little Bit

Country: United Kingdom

Year: 1996

Total points: 77

Final placing: 8th out of 23

Had televoting been introduced for every country this year, this song would've won by an absolute landslide, I'm sure of it! And it would've been very well deserved too. ^_^ This song pissed all over that rubbish from Eimear Quinn, it really did - it totally deserved to win. :arrr: Going #1 globally and #12 on the Hot 100 just about proves it deserved to win the Eurovision, but alas, it wasn't to be. :(

3. Antique - Die for You

Country: Greece

Year: 2001

Total points: 147

Final placing: 3rd out of 23

This song should have won the 2001 contest hands down, maybe with a bit of competition from France, but no way did this deserve to get trounced by that Estonian rubbish as well. :arrr: This was an amazing performance of an absolutely fantastic song, and I often listen to this song at other non-ESC related times. ^_^ That fat bloke to the right of Helena needs to disappear though, I'm presuming he's the other half of Antique? Well, all the same, this is a fantastic song, and is my third favourite song of all time in the Eurovision! :o

Top two coming up later.

Firstly, I though it's nothing special. But, when I think a bit more, yes, it's what Eurovision need. And the man have good voice.
