June 6, 200817 yr Author I have no idea what the top 2 are seeing as you said Antique was your fave of all time last year  Can we have a summary of the top 50 so far plz? ;o First page Tyron. :w00t: I shall be posting my top two shortly. ^_^
June 6, 200817 yr Author Well, here they are - my top two. :w00t: 2. Dima Bilan - Never Let You Go Country: Russia Year: 2006 Total points: 248 Final placing: 2nd out of 24 enOeXDxP2To When this song first appeared, I wasn't all too keen on it, but since he came back in 2008, my love for this song has grown substantially. Aside from the awful hairstyle that Dima is seen sporting in this video, it's a fantastic performance - especially with the woman appearing out of the piano! This really deserved to win instead of that Finnish rubbish, but fair play to Finland - they'd certainly waited long enough, and Russia (and Dima) have done it just two years later! Oh and the fact that he's the fittest Eurovision entrant in the history of the contest also contributes to his high position! And all that paves the way for... 1. Katrina & the Waves - Love Shine a Light Country: United Kingdom Year: 1997 Total points: 227 Final placing: 1st out of 25 7qaYeR7uOKo Go on, admit it, whenever you hear this song you get a little chill going down your spine! It's such an anthem, a truly amazing song. This is what all British Eurovision entries should be like, and if they were all up to this standard, maybe we'd replicate the 70 point margin that we had over second-placed Ireland in 1997! Katrina gave an absolutely fantastic performance, which resulted in the United Kingdom's first victory since Bucks Fizz in 1981 - although we'd come second three or four times since then! Well, let's hope it isn't another 16 years before we do it again.
June 6, 200817 yr How did I forget Dima? :heehee: And yes, he is quite a nice piece of eye candy  And I do believe I've already mentioned that Katrina is absolutely amaze :w00t:

June 6, 200817 yr Koldun never was that great looking in the first place David, at least compare him with someone who has a chance, like...Nusa Derenda :kink: Or Sakis Rouvas or Sarbel ;o
June 6, 200817 yr Author Koldun never was that great looking in the first place David, at least compare him with someone who has a chance, like...Nusa Derenda :kink: Or Sakis Rouvas or Sarbel ;o Who is Nusa Derenda? And Sakis Rouvas is old and pasty. Sarbel... hmm well his dance moves let him down a bit. :( I think Ms. Paparizou is the most attractive of all the Greeks tbh. From 2005 onwards anyway. :w00t:
June 6, 200817 yr HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE DYNAMITE PHOTO OF SAKIS? :o Nusa = Slovenia's entrant in 2001, the one who announced their votes in 2003 :w00t:
June 6, 200817 yr Author HAVE YOU NOT SEEN THE DYNAMITE PHOTO OF SAKIS? :o Nusa = Slovenia's entrant in 2001, the one who announced their votes in 2003 :w00t: Hmm... I'm sure their 2001 one was the ENERGYYY woman and their votes announcer in 2003 was that bloke who said something about having the final results and then wandering off screen? I just saw the dynamite photo of Sakis though, not too impressive. :( He looks alright here though I suppose.
June 6, 200817 yr Oh c**p, I'm mixing up my years and forgetting my entrants :( Silly Trashley. The guy who announced their votes in 2003 was quite dishy though :naughty: And yeah, it's between Kali and Elena for Greece I suppose
June 6, 200817 yr that Slovenian guy always announces their votes doesn't he? I'm sure he did it this year too! the blonde Turkish woman's always the same too...love her! Not a huge fan of Never Let You Go, it has to be said...the whole woman in the piano gimmick was weird...and he loves himself too much :heehee: Love Shine A Light is amazing, but I still think Katrina should never be above Gina G...I wish 1996 and 1997's results were switched around :(

And the old Greek bloke! They're the only ones I can think of that are the same though... of course we always had Colin Berry until 2002 for about 30 years, but he's finished now. :( I think Austria always used to have the same woman actually. And you always say that about Dima Rich. :( He has reason enough to love himself.
June 7, 200817 yr What was with the old Russian lady last year? :( She does it quite often does she not?
June 7, 200817 yr I'm only going to do this from 1996 to now, as that was the year that I started watching, and I don't really know any songs from before that aside from the obvious ones - Cliff, ABBA, Bucks Fizz etc. I'll keep updating this over the next few weeks, and I'll try and get an ESC performance video for each. It's funny, because 1996 is about the time that I switched off from watching the Eurovision. I prefered it when they predominantly sang in their national tongue and (I'm guessing a little here as I don't now watch) not invariably in English. For me, it now has a feel of some kind of overlong teeny pop programme. I think 1994 was a classic year btw.
