Posted June 1, 200817 yr I know that there are loads of these topics floating around, I'm sorry for making another one  But I can't help myself. ^_^ 15 - Russia 2003 14 - Norway 2005 13 - Ireland 2005 12 - Turkey 2006 11 - Malta 2005 10 - France 2006 9 - Russia 2007 8 - The Netherlands 2000 7 - Sweden 2001 6 - Ireland 2008 5 - Germany 2006 4 - Hungary 2005 3 - Iceland 2006 2 - Belgium 2003 1 - Romania 2005 Edited June 12, 200817 yr by Cal
June 1, 200817 yr Author 15. Country - Russia Year - 2003 Act - t.A.T.u. _ Ne Ver, Ne Boisia Place - 3rd Points - 164 yCvaEJSP7o4 Okay, they sucked ass singing LIVE. But I do think that the song had so much more going for it. Good song, good beats. Baaad vocals. Not much more to say about this. But it is 15 due to my obsession with t.A.T.u. 14. Country - Norway Year - 2005 Act - Wigwam _ In My Dreams Place - 8th Points - 125 gVgBq4WPenU Now this is what Eurovision is about! Norway don't seem to do that well in the contest, but these guys gave Kiev a bit of a show. :cheer: Awesome clothes, awesome song, awesome make-up! Even though I voted for this, like, 98 times, we still only managed to give them 4 points. Edited June 2, 200817 yr by Cal
June 1, 200817 yr Author 13. Country - Ireland Year - 2005 Act - Donna and Joe _ LOVE Place - 14th in the Semi Points - 53 U7Z6wozuYEE Donna and Joe failed to qualify to the finals in Kiev. The song was great, but I hated the clowns singing it! Ok, Donna wasn't that bad... but putting her in high heels when she is 4 ft something was a bad idea. Joe The Toad wasn't any better. His tacky smile and dancing made me gag every time he appeared on screen. Donna's voice overpowers Joe's, thank God. Backing dancers were fine. I think one of them fell of a table at a press conference, that made my week!
June 1, 200817 yr Author 12. Country - Turkey Year - 2006 Act - Sibel Tüzün _ Süperstar Place - 11th Points - 91 ImgHz926ooE A great entry for Turkey. Such a catchy song. Sibel's voice was great and she pulled the whole thing off perfectly. The backing dancers were great. 'Nuff said :yahoo: Edited June 1, 200817 yr by Cal
June 1, 200817 yr Oh no that Irish song was awful! I quite liked 'Superstar' though, and TATU and Wigwam were alright too. ^_^
June 1, 200817 yr Author ^ ^_^ 11. Country - Malta Year - 2005 Act - Chiara _ Angel Place - 2nd Points - 192 kiwLvRHJSvg Ah yes, Malta 2005! Why this song didn't win is beyond me. This song was one of very few that I actually liked in the 2005 contest and I was GUTTED when it lost out to that evil spawn from Greece. A fantastic performance and the crowd loved it. :cheer:
June 1, 200817 yr Author 10. Country - France Year - 2006 Act - Virginie Pouchain _ Il était temps Place - 19th Points - 5 5Xay540-SnU Okay, I think everybody else in Europe hated this song. But it was one of my favorites of 2006. How it only got 5 points is still a question I ask myself. She was a great singer and it was a great song. It was a pity Europe didn't care! :(
June 1, 200817 yr Author 9. Country - Russia Year - 2007 Act - Serebro _ Song 1 Place - 3rd Points - 207 kNgnyeB-fqc Serebro where a real hit at the contest in Helsinki. Third place was well deserved. The lyrics were a bit dodge. Tasting cheery pies? :P
June 2, 200817 yr Virginie was so so dire...she looked visibly nervous and her voice was shaking... and considering Norway 'don't seem to do that well' they've finished in the top ten in 2003, 2005 and 2008, which isn't that bad! love Serebro and Chiara though
June 2, 200817 yr Serebro  The lyrics just make that song for me tbh :heehee: Virginie was awful live! :o
June 2, 200817 yr Author 8. Country - The Netherlands Year - 2000 Act - Linda _ No Goodbyes Place - 13th Points - 40 AnqpeLoGi2s Absolutely tragic. This is so bad, it's actually good. I remember watching this and I was like "What's in that dress?! Is it a car?! A person?! An elephant?!", then some trashy euroboys popped out and I was VERY disappointed :P But nevertheless, catchy song..... and that was about it. Edited June 2, 200817 yr by Cal
June 2, 200817 yr Author 7. Country - Sweden Year - 2001 Act - Friends _ Listen to your heartbeat Place - 5th Points - 100 xR4BFQYFzMU This was a blatant ripoff off an ABBA song for sure! It may not have been original, but it sure was super! :naughty:
June 2, 200817 yr 7. Country - Sweden Year - 2001 Act - Friends _ Listen to your heartbeat This was a blatant ripoff off an ABBA song for sure! It may not have been original, but it sure was super! :naughty: aren't most of Sweden's entries ABBA rip off's :P I love them all though
June 2, 200817 yr Haha Linda Wagonmakers was ridiculously hilarious. She was actually one of the pre-contest favourites along with Nicki French! :o
June 2, 200817 yr Nicki would have been a terrible winner with her sub-Steps b-side then again Olsen Brothers weren't exactly the greatest winners of all time...Alsou and Ines were robbed
June 2, 200817 yr Haha I have to say, I do quite like 'Don't Play That Song Again'! But the performance was cringeworthy.
June 2, 200817 yr UK in the noughties=cringeworthy except Jessica Garlick of course  all of our other entries wouldn't have won karaoke contests in a back alley pub Nicki French, Lindsay D, Jemini, Daz Sampson, Scooch and Andy Abraham were all incredibly cringey to watch, Javine wasn't exactly comfortable viewing and James Fox was just completely bland
June 2, 200817 yr OMG LISTEN TO YOUR HEARTBEAT  I really should compose one of these at some point :heehee: And it's like a quickened version of The Winner Takes It All :w00t:
June 2, 200817 yr Author LOL :D 6. Country - Ireland Year - 2008 Act - Dustin _ Irelande Douze Points Place - 15th in SF1 Points - 22 GfuJaf6IBpk Absolutely GUTTED that this didn't get through. Obviously, Europe wasn't ready for Dustin. I don't know how "big" this in the UK or Europe... But this is huge here. It's all over the record stores (with shelves of the cd, with people actually buying it). It was at #5 in the Irish charts for two or so weeks. It's rampant in almost every disco in the country. So, it's a hit here! Edited June 2, 200817 yr by Cal
June 2, 200817 yr Dustin quite frankly needs to get stuffed :smoke: [/ridiculouslyoldjokebutwhatevzzz]
