Cyndi Lauper has a new album to it, and it really is excellent.

Very pop/dance vibe to it.

Here is a preview.

I got it on import.

Its a bit of a mixed bag but overall its really good! To summerise its like an alternative version of maddona's confession's album. Cyndi's voice at times varies from quirky to annoying but there is some amazing production on this album from Dragonette, Digital Dog, Basement Jaxx. This album is really DIFFERENT. A real treat. And she stands a chance of a semi big commerical comeback if she promotes and markets her self well with this album.

"Into The Night" HAS to be a single!! There are some songs on this album that Madonna and Kylie will have wish they came up with when they hear it.

Here's a video of her talking about the album.

She's looking good for her age.

Her best material since the early 90s IMO - both the album and the new single - corking, and fully deserving of a return to the top 20, I think.

Agreed, it's a very commercial and radio friendly album, if given the right airplay/promotion it would do really well.

amazing album really... she deserves huge success with it, even though i doubt it.

She's an underrated icon.

Her only problem with this project will be lack of any real promotion and her image.

She has the material but as we all know, image is everything. The video for "Into The Night" does not help either. Its awful. Such a ace song has such an awful video. She looks grannylicious on pills in a gay club trying to be young. She is taking the Cher root - Going to far with the gay symbol status. Artists like Madonna, Kylie have large gay fan bases but dont simply restrict themselfs to that audience. And to clarify I meen they don't just have muscle bound men in vests in their video's and look like drag queen barbie dolls.

there's nothing wrong with being restricted tot he gay audience or having muscle bound men in vests in their videos... it's not a bad thing at all... maybe the rest of the female singers should learn from Cyndi...

"Into The Nightlife" deserves to be her "Believe"

Cyndi Lauper - Into The Nightlife

I only heard this single less than two weeks ago, and went out and bought the album, which I love.

It really is the album the "Hard Candy" & "X" should have been.

I agree about the video, though. It looks like Robyn's auntie having a go at recreating the video to Nelly Furtado's Maneater in a gay nightclub.

But I think this track deserves to be this decade's "Believe" by Cher.

It Hit #4 on The Billboard Dance Chart this week. Some say it is 1# Next week. But We will have to wait for the Charts to update.
