I imagine they might think GWTW was Ds turn for now so hope we dont have to wait for his turn to come around again.

and exactly how did 19's promotion and marketing arm work the miracle to get Darius into GWTW? Seems to me GV sidled up to Darius at the Chicago thing and asked him to come to a casting. Then Darius postponed his flight, turned up next day and impressed the casting agent and it went from there.

Darius's talents got Darius into GWTW so IMHO 19 still owe him his turn.

Darius needs to up his profile - GWTW would probably have done it if it had run. At least it's sinking through to people that GWTW wasn't the stinker critics slated.

Some believe that Gone With the Wind would still be with us if it had been developed outside London or at least had a longer preview period in which to get things right, not least the initial four-hour-plus running time (they got it down to three hours 10 minutes, but after press night).

I still say it was the best show I've ever seen.

Yes well one name crops up in connection with that and its not Darius. The name seems to have faded away quietly without criticism. Someone with so much experience should not get it wrong bearing in mind the cost of staging it. Had he got it right would GWTW still be going?

I saw about this show and that it is at the new london the same as GWTW, hope this is not going to be a jinx.

I get more convinced each day that Gone With The Wind is a major step on the way to much more widespread success for Darius. He has made his mark as a musical theatre performer and actor. This time his talents and charisma were recognised and widely praised. I'm grateful for the opportunity which Sir Trevor Nunn gave him.

I'm sure only good can come out of this situation. Opportunities are everywhere in life and Darius has a multitude of choices.

Snippet - from broadwayworld. In the last 48hrs Stage Entertainment Ltd have jumped to the advanced stages of acquiring the New London Theatre from Andrew Lloyd Webber. Wonder if this was going on whils GWTW was there.

who knows.....I know we would be last to

I just wish we could hear what's happening next

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group sold the Garrick, Apollo, Duchess and Lyric Theatres and recently sold

See Tickets.'The Royal Shakespeare Group were initially interested in the New London Theatre but didn't go ahead because their theatre redevelopment in Stratford was costing over £100million. So the theatre was up for closed bidding at the end of January this year. According to Preston, the new owners are going to be Stage Entertainment Ltd.

There is a 101year lease on the theatre, but it is not a listed building, so could be redeveloped although it seems unlikely

that Camden Council would permit this.

Very few London theatres have a thrust stage.

Critic Mark Shenton says in an article that last week critics were invited to re-review Spamalot at the Palace Theatre

( Sanjeev Bhaskar has taken over as King Arthur)

Why oh why could GWTW not have been re-reviewed after it had been shortened and reshaped ? With better reviews

the audiences would have increased and the show might have been saved.

Darius and Natasha went to Spamalot's second press night while she was here. The show is still closing.
Wouldn't you need to be a Monty Python fan to appreciate that show?

When we spoke to the cast of GWTW about a second 'press night' they said that it had been done but it was after they had been given their closing date!!!! What was the point of that!!??
