Posted June 6, 200817 yr I downloaded this low-budget indie-flick a while back and just got round to watching it last night... It was seriously pretty brutal stuff at times and made for quite uncomfortable viewing.. Milla Jovovich about as far removed from the "Resi Evil" films as you can imagine.. She plays the girlfriend (Kat) of this really nasty small-time criminal who beats her, abuses her and just generally treats her like sh!t... The sequences when he is beating her are really quite extraordinarily harsh and incredibly realistic.. But Kat hatches an elaborate plan of revenge, utilising her potent sexuality to get back at her boyfriend... It's an indie-flick, but it's seriously good, although the final 15 mins are a bit off, not quite matching up to the incredibly strong opening hour or so, but if you want to see a film where Milla act, I mean, seriously acts, then I recommend it.. The actor who plays her boyfriend "Big Al" (Angus MacFadyen) is also notable, a thoroughly convincing performance of a nasty piece of work.... The film utilises some curious techniques, such as charaters addressing straight to camera like they're being interviewed, but this actually adds to the feel of the film, and seems perfectly natural once you get used to it.... Good film for those who want a bit of gritty, low-life drama where actors really act.... 7/10. In terms of the performances alone, it gets a 10/10...

In terms of the performances alone, it gets a 10/10... yeah i had noticed this in the 5 for £30 section at Zavvi - there seems to be quite a lot of DTV or maybe ex-TV movie stuff being put by this (what seems new) DNC entertainment firm - a lot of the time with stars in the films that are like Jessica Biel in Home of the Brave and the other times with people like Dolph Lungren - the mechanik for example....tho sometime with films like this it can be very hit and miss and more time more miss than hit tho DVD premieres are now a more important area of the usual big studios to extend their franchizes or rescue TV pilots/series (Blade - House Of Chthon with Sticky Fingerz). I dont know much about this newbie (maybe its someone's shingle  ) - as there is not much help on their web at the moment - tho there seems to have been a lot of movement within this area with Starz taking over Anchor Bay and New Line being folded into Warners...and the Romainians taking over Metrodome from TV-Loonland http://www.dncentertainment.co.uk/ and the logo has been very influcenced by this dont you think... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/08/DMC_Logo.3.jpg eSCFAxxCO7Q
