Posted June 6, 200817 yr When asked in a recent interview about the next single release, she replied; That’s pretty difficult to say, only because of the record label at this point. We started off with Feedback and the label and myself haven’t quite seen eye to eye since the Feedback single so they’ve kind of basically stopped all promotion. I’m trying to figure out a way to say this, but just to say it and to be quite honest, they just stopped all promotion whatsoever on the album so I don’t think you’re going to hear another single off this album. :( Not even trying to save the project! Wish she would do one more single with an amazing video. Hate it when peoples best work in ages flops! Thoughts?
June 8, 200817 yr Yeah, I read about this. Such a shame. :( Discipline is definitely in my top 3 albums of 2008, but the way it's been handled is absolutely terrible. I really think she'll leave Def Jam and then just be unsigned or something, or have to set up her own label. (:
June 10, 200817 yr Is she having a laugh? No disrespect to JAN of course, but everyone slagged off Virgin for handling her badly and not promoting her etc, etc. Then she signs to a new label in IDJ (who are excellent with the promotional wheel!) and suddenly this album has flopped because of them and now everyone is blaming IDJ. I see a pattern emerging. I honestly think Janet is just lazy and expects to sell phenomenally well based on her name alone with little or no input in terms of promotion or appearances etc. If there are no more singles why did she just randomly perform Luv on Ellen as well? That's a bit weird. Get a grip Janet!
June 11, 200817 yr ^She performed Luv on Ellen to promote the tour which is sponsored by Live Nation and which features no input from Def Jam. Luv is the single Janet wanted released, but before the tour promotion she's never sung it because Def Jam (LA Reid) wanted Rock With U, hence making her shoot a video for it.
June 24, 200817 yr Thats a shame. I really liked 'Feedback' but yer Janet's just rubbish at promoting...bit like my Madge these days, lazy or making bad decisions!
July 13, 200816 yr This album is one of the best in this year, great songs, specialy discipline. Poor Janet. :(
July 14, 200816 yr Poor Janet , Will she ever turn things around & come back with a massive album   Discipline had much stronger material on it than 20.Y.O & if given a video & a bit of promotion Luv could have been top 20 at least in the UK
August 4, 200816 yr its a shame as the album is 100% doomed its worrying having 2 big flops in a row maybe a greatets hits should be done next and have a whopper of a new single to renew interest in her
