She is apparently working with Chris Martin now:

"Natalie Imbruglia and Chris Martin have been recording together for her new album, according to reports.

The Aussie pop star and former "Neighbours" actress was pictured in London this week, after presenting an award at The BRITS.

She was also in attendance at Coldplay's exclusive War Child concert at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.

A UK tabloid claims the singer has been working on material with the band's singer for release later this year.

Imbruglia's last album, "Counting Down The Days", came out in 2005."

A little Dannii-like.

I LOVE her new look, she was stunning at the BRITS

and I very much like the album title. I cannot wait for her new stuff :D

Ooh, not sure about that pic. She does look very Dannii like but not in a good way.

Chris Martin confirmed:

link: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,2...71-2902,00.html

Imbruglia has been working with the band in London and has been recently seen out and about at shows with Martin.

“Our best ever song and we just gave to her,” Martin said.

“We obviously can’t release anything for a while because people are a bit sick of us so we asked her if she wanted to do it.”

"Come To Life" is much better than "Brand New Day"...the latter sounds like it could be a Take That single.
i really hope she promotes the hell out of the new album i have enjoyed all her albums but sadly they are never promoted properly with the exception of left of the middle, maybe now she is single again she will have more time for promo and her record label might put in some work also

Imbruglia employs ex-husband on album

Aussie songstress Natalie Imbruglia has enlisted some of the biggest names in music, including her ex-husband Daniel Johns and Coldplay's Chris Martin, for her new album.

Imbruglia is set to release her fourth studio album, Come To Life, later this year featuring a diverse collection of pop, electro and dance influenced songs.

Ben Hillier, who has worked with Blur, Doves and Depeche Mode, has produced the album, with Johns and Martin among the songwriting credits.

"I've got some Chris Martin songs that have come in at the last minute (which are) really cool," Imbruglia says.

"So that's been really exciting. I'm a very lucky girl."

Imbruglia says her ex-husband has had a lot of creative input on the record.

"He did some beautiful work on there actually.

"In fact one of the parts he wrote in one of the songs is my favourite two notes on the whole album.

"It sounds really weird but they run through the whole song, and it makes the whole song for me. (He's a) very clever boy."

While she's happy to talk about their professional collaboration, Imbruglia refuses to comment on their relationship or rumours she's dating Prince Harry.

"I'm not going to talk - it's kind of off-limits," she says.

Imbruglia has also scotched reports she was planning to hold a bushfire benefit concert with Kylie and Dannii Minogue, saying she's been misquoted.

Come To Life is due out in May in the UK, with an Australian release date yet to be announced.

This really does sound like it'll be worth the wait. And it'll have to be, the hype they're building!

Another article on the Chris Martin collaboration:

Martin regrets donating song to Imbruglia

(Wednesday March 04, 2009 11:27 AM)

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin regrets donating a track to Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia - because it is the band's "best song of all time."

Martin collaborated with Imbruglia on her upcoming album Come To Life, which is due for release later this year.

The Yellow hitmaker offered her a new song he had written for Coldplay, because the rockers are currently between recording albums.

And Martin admits he will always regret the decision because he is so fiercely proud of the track.

He says, "A bit annoyingly we've given her the best Coldplay song of all time, but because we're off-cycle we can't do it ourselves.

"Half of me wishes we still had it. But she sounds f**king brilliant on it. I think she has a very unique talent and an incredibly unique voice.''

Natalie Imbruglia's fresh new sound

Natalie Imbruglia is really proud of her "fresh" new album and can't stop working on it.

The 34-year-old Aussie star was due to release her fourth record this month, but postponed it until May as she wanted to add some new music.

Natalie revealed: "I'm really, really excited. I've been back in the studio. It was almost ready to be finished and then I had a last minute inspiration so I've been having a creative spurt. But it's still due to come out in May and I can't wait for everyone to hear it." She added: "I pushed the boat out a little bit more and it's a little bit more fresh sounding and I can't wait for people to hear it."

But the singer and actress said while the new album is different, she doesn't think her old fans will be disappointed.

She said: "I think my musical style has changed. I think it's been gradual and slow for me but because it's been a long time since people have heard new material from me it will be more of a shock to the audience than to me because it's happened gradually over time. I've been working on this record for quite a few years, so yeah.

"There's more electronic stuff, there's some dance beats on there, but ultimately it's a pop record and it still sounds like me I think.

"I don't think it's a complete reinvention or a complete redirection, there's some fresh stuff on there."

No news of the album? Release dates, tracklisting, or first single info?

The record is supposed to come out next month... We should hear sthg by now if it hasn't been delayed yet again. :(

Some news, yep. This is what the man who has mixed the three Coldplay-produced songs said today:

Another awesome song to mix for Natalie, Chris Martin wrote three for her that I'm mixing. Natalie came by, loved the mix, we made a few some changes. I sent it to Chris M. he added some ideas. Natalie like those changes. Done!

She was really great to work with, what a fun two days. Great songs, great singer. me happy. good night.

And Natalie twittered:

Great session with Mr Brauer. Very early flight tomorrow back to UK. Are we done? Who knows at this stage!
