Posted June 9, 200817 yr Is Britney planning on leaving Jive Records and manager Larry Rudolph? Well according to X17, she just might. "Brit was visiting with Geffen Records head honcho, David Geffen... Brit spent Sunday afternoon at Geffen's multi-million dollar Malibu beach home. David hosted Britney for at least an hour, according to our source, and then Brit hoofed it back to the Geffen-owned Malibu Beach Inn where she has stayed on occasion. We believe she spent Saturday night at the hotel and spent most of Sunday there. Universal Music Group's VP, Paul Cooper told me today, "I don't know anything about it." I can bet he's making some calls now, though! Calls to Geffen publicity have not yet been returned and we're still waiting to hear from Larry Rudolph and from Sony BMG/Jive Records." Britney shot a cameo in a music video for the Pussycat Dolls last week, who are represented by you guessed it... Geffen (Interscope.) Take control, Britney! Source: Breathe Heavy
June 10, 200817 yr Geffen will take good care of her IMO. And Ron Fair seems to know what hes doing esp. on Girlicious.
June 11, 200817 yr I have heard this report as well, but I heard that she was planning on leaving Jive...but that her and Larry both wanted to leave Jive so that she could go in a more artistic direction. I don't know but I don't mind as long as Britney is happy with whatever she decides.
June 12, 200817 yr I think Jive has handled her music career quite well and it seems like she still has control over what direction she wants to go with them. I don't know... maybe that's just me. It seems a little bogus to me. I don't think X17's assumptions are very reliable either in my opinion.
June 12, 200817 yr Hmm. JIVE have been a mini-b**ch when it comes to Blackout (Especially Gimme More) with all the confusion of release dayes and so forth... Maybe something fresh is what she needs, new her = new label? Long as she's happy ^_^
June 13, 200817 yr If she does leave, I just hope it's a record label that can get a bit of promotion out.
