June 11, 200817 yr are there any streams anywhere for the 1997, 98, 99 and 00 contests does anyone know? I've been looking for ages
June 11, 200817 yr That's where I go too. Thanks for the post. Oh, everyone can also watch any JESC that Norway took part in. I'm going to pretend like I didn't watch JESC 2004 and JESC 2005 and hope that everyone believes me... Oh, and the official eurovision site has all the 2008 stuff. But I don't think you can skip around - so if you wanted to watch an entire semi/final over again without the commentators I would start there.
June 11, 200817 yr Author are there any streams anywhere for the 1997, 98, 99 and 00 contests does anyone know? I've been looking for ages Hi there, im not sure if theres any streams around for those contests but I know that you can get them for £1 each on eBay :D
June 11, 200817 yr I actually have the 1997, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 contests on videos and DVDs. :w00t: The earliest two I got off eBay on DVD - very good quality, but they were £6.99, still pretty reasonable though and it was the BBC's coverage so you get Wogan included. And he was on fire in 1997.

United Kingdom 08. Italy 18. Iceland 28. Netherlands 36. Ireland 46. Cyprus
June 11, 200817 yr ...and it's contests like 1997 that makes me think we should bring back the native language rule!
June 12, 200817 yr I have 2001, 2002 and 2003 on video, which I recorded myself, and the DVD's of the ones since 2004... but the quality of the 2002 is really poor, barely watchable, I could do with buying it really from this eBay person

And he was on fire in 1997. I've got some off that "£1 guy", and he was great in 1997 - they trialled televoting that year in five countries, and we were one of them. During the voting period, he told us to "not vote tactically, just use your vote in the way it will be most effective". And we started our trend of giving high points to Ireland. (With the exceptions of 1999, 2001 and 2007, we've failed to give them anything less than 7 points.) I recently also bought 1997 and 2003 from ebay from the "£1 guy".. 1997 is very LP quality but 2003 is nice and clear.. but who can complain for £1 each. In 1997, digital TV had yet to be started in the United Kingdom, so had to have cable to get a crystal clear picture of BBC1. I'm guessing that guy didn't. The 2001 with Wogan's commentary is HILARIOUS isn't it? :heehee: Since then he's never really been on proper form; he actually took an interest in the songs in 2001, and took the p*** out of the presenters as well. :heehee: Well, how can you have NOT taken the p!ss out of the presenters - they were horrendous. No wonder the evening hadn't been done ENTIRELY of rhyming couplets before or since. AND he even managed to annoy Danmarks Radio as well!
