Fair point :o

It's possible that the same song would qualify either way I suppose.

It's also possible that it's too late now -_-

In a new thread, I have a few things to do first.

Which way shall we do it then? The song with more 12s, 10s etc? or the one with most votes? Each way means a different song qualifies.

I think we should do it the way we were originally planing to do it and then later have a discussion as to which is the better idea.

We are dealing with two different songs qualifying here so it's not a decision to be taken lightly

Ooh I'm staying out of it. :o Although... you could combine the two - so count how many individual people have voted for the two songs, and then if they've had add two points per 12 and one point per ten to that total. If you catch my drift.

Oh gawd. Whatever way I say knowing my luck it will be my song that misses out.

Nevertheless I say most votes gets through.

The real comp does most 12s and I think that's fairer.

No it doesn;t.

It does most votes and if the score is still equal then most 12s 10s etc are taken into account.

That said, the way we were originally planning to do it was how it is done in the contest, which people mistakenly thought was the most 12s 10s way.

It is in fact the most votes way, or has been since the mid 90s.

That is my view on countback (the one with the most 12s win, if level, the one with the most 10s win, if level the one with the most 8s...... etc), as it happens in Eurovision which is what this whole competition is based on, unless you want to actually favour the Despora vote

ALEX HAS BEEN EJECTED FROM THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE FOR RULE BREAKING.

Then again we could just ditch both of them and just have 12 songs from each qualify to give a 25 song final :P

However I think that would probably be the most unfair of all!

Oh goodness, what shall I do? :drama:

I think I might just do most 12s, 10s etc because if a countries got through by a load of 1-4 points as opposed to one with fewer 12 and 10s I think the first one will do worse in the final because if they are getting by on the lower points now, it's likely that those points will disappear when we get to the final as there are a different group of popular songs to rate.

What? But the 12s 10s way blatantly favours the diaspora/neighbour vote!

It is much fairer to favour the song that has a more widespread appeal

OMG!!!!!! :o

Toss a coin. :magic:
