For me one of the all time great producers was George Martin who worked with the Beatles.

But what other producers left their mark in the last 40 or so years?

George Martin would spring immediately to my mind too. I'd also rate Quincy Jones rather highly though.

Norma

Giorgio Moroder - for every 'Son of my Father' there was an 'I Feel Love'!

Not forgetting 'Together In Electric Dreams' ft Phil Oakey.

Shame that his work with The Beatles was so shockingly bad.

Alex Sadkin - mastermind behind all the early Grace Jones tracks - his production was breathtaking - crisp, uncluttered and gorgeous. He met an untimely end in a car crash in Nassau - RIP.

The Insects - Bristol production team responsible for Massive Attack, Portishead, Alison Moyet and Goldfrapp's greatest work.

Giorgio Moroder - a visionary. A genius in fact.
