1. Hey Corey, what do you hope will happen for Trivium this year ?

We got a new record coming out later this year so we all are very excited about that coming out. Also lots of tours coming up so we are hoping things to just keep building and getting bigger and better !

2. How do you guys plan to raise the bar on 'Crusades' after everything you've accomplished with 'Ascendancy'?

We all have improved as musicians and we are growing as a band so we are just writing stronger material... so we are going to take what we did on ascendancy and expand on our sound and make a pure ass kicking metal record.

3. I've heard you were into guns and roses before you really got into metal, have they influenced your songwriting at all do you think? p.s. for the love of god don't do something like November rain and sell out.

Gnr was the first band I ever heard so it got me into the hard rock/metal genre they didn't influence me songwriting wise they were more of a blues based rock band I was more influenced by the metallica/megadeth side of things.. November rain is a great song! none of us can play piano so there isn't a way to write a song like that... but I am a big fan of the epic big orchestrated songs gnr did on the UYI 1/2 record ...

4. Do you think metallica sold out with the black album and lost their sound from then on? you guys say you want to be bigger than metallica would you ever do what they did down the line?

I don't think the sold out... they just wanted to do something different. just cause the songs are accessible and easier for people to understand and get into doesn't mean they sold out... the point of that record wasn't to make a $h!tload of money.. it could of flopped you never know when doing a album how its going to do... we just write music we want to play and would want to listen to if we were a fan... later on in our career sometimes bands change things up to make things fresh for them and keep the fire for what they love.... working the same job everyday and doing the exact same thing gets really ****in' boring so I think that's why some bands down the road do something to mix things up..

5. What made you pick up the guitar and start playing and how long ago was that?

I picked up the guitar when I was 14 so that was about 8 years ago and I picked up the guitar cause I wanted to learn how to play metallica riffs and stuff like that.

6. In terms of metal bands Trivium are quite young, especially Matt, so what is it like for yourself and Trivium to tour with other older metal bands? P.S. Cant wait for the new album!

It's no problem at all... we get along with the older bands better then the younger ones. They are all very nice and cool to us and we all hang out. The older bands who have been around longer then us usually look out for us and are class acts!

7. What is your favorite song off of Ascendancy and Ember To Inferno and Why?

Man that is a tough one ..... Ascendancy would have to be flies cause that is the first tune I helped write in the band so it has a special meaning. Ember would have to be probably the title track just the chorus is simple and sticks in your head.

8. Hi, do you still get nervous on stage, even though I'm sure you have nothing to worry about because you and matt are both real good guitarists TRIVIUM RULE.

I never get nervous before i play sometimes i get excited cause I just want to play cause usually during the day is pretty boring ... so playing is something that I look forward too!

9. Being a brilliant guitarist in a brilliant band what actual bands inspired you the most?

Bands that inspired me were like metallica, megadeth, pantera, iron maiden.

10. Hi, I just had to ask this What process do you do when trying to write your songs, they are so amazing, 'Dying In Your Arms' is fan-****ing-tastic. Cheers

Depends on the songs.. some are jammed out as a band and some are written by one person and they we all just learn it and put it together so its different depending on our mood haha.

11. If you could be the lead guitarist of any other band in the world apart from Trivium, who would it be? p.s you ****in rocked in leeds!

Man it would have to be like megadeth or iron maiden

12. What is your favourite solo ever?

Favourite solo, that's a tough one... either tornado of souls by megadeth or floods/ cemetary gates pantera

13. Who is you biggest influence and your best Roadrunner band?

Favourite guitar players is Dave/Marty Megadeth Dimebag, George Lynch, Michael Angelo Batio, Dave/Adrian Iron Maiden. Favourite Roadrunner bands are past bands king diamond, annihilator, and newer bands likes devildriver, sanctity.

14. Whats the most weirdest thing you have had thrown on stage?

Nothing to crazy , a blow up alien with trivium written all over it was different... other then that its allot of flags, and shoes end on stage that come flying off the crowd surfers haha

15. Will you be playing any of your songs from 'the crusade' at the download festival?

yeah we album will be done being recorded at that point so the songs will be finished so we will have new material ready to go!

16. What were your thoughts and feelings on the morning of Saturday 11th June 2005, just before heading into your performance at the download festival? Also your feelings throughout and after the performance.

We were the first band on so I wasn't sure how many people would come out to see us that early since they probably were up all night drinking the night before haha... would of looked stupid with no one there... thank god people woke up to check us out! It was a great show one of the most memorable ones we have ever had. After the show I couldn't believe what had happened. It was very special for us and we were al very excited with how everything turned out! look forward to this year.

17. Hi Corey. what's the craziest thing a fan has done for you?

I don't know of anything anyone has done that has been crazy... people getting trivium tattoos or our signatures on them I wouldn't say is crazy but shows the most dedication to the band! inked for life.

18. If you could work with any musician alive or dead who would it be??

Dimebag darrell.

19. What's the next album gonna be like? has your style changed at all?

It sounds like trivium its just more thrashed.... more musical and teched out guitar wise then the last one... the biggest different between the record is going to be the vocals .. It will be different then what everyone probably thinks.

20. Corey dude, you've taken to stages along side legendary bands like Maiden and Sabbath, and played spiritual metal and rock venues like Donington, if you had to pick a single performance from your whole time with Trivium that tops all the others, what would it be?

Our first time playing download was great biggest crowd we have every played in and it was great... but ill probably say this years download when we get there haha.

21. Hey Corey! Do you ever get tired off girls throwing themselves at you, or the press saying that you're "the next motley crue"?! holly xx

Well girls don't throw themselves at us... we use to be motley style but its harder to find chicks cause more people know us.. before we just walk out into he crowd and go hang out with chicks but we cant just walk around the crowd anymore... and the girls seem too young or too shy so it doesn't happen.. 3/4th have gf's now so no one really cares at this point haha.

22. What's your least favorite part of touring?

Overseas, I dont have my cell phone so that sucks! And sometimes i'm not digging the food in some countries.

23. Who do you think is a better on guitar Kirk Hammet or Dave Mustaine

Mustaine owns

24. Hey Corey what would be your dream line up of metal gods put into one big mega group?

Dimebag - guitar Mustaine - guitar Steve Harris - bass Hetfield - vocals Vinnie Paul - drums

25. What's the augmented 4th of G#?

Off the top of my head I believe that is D

26. Will you marry me? I love you. x

Well send me pictures then we will see! haha

I thought their first two albums were perfectly good real metal albums....

They just shouldn't do Metallica covers, that's all......

their first 2 albums were alright, i tought the second was abit overrated.

No they shouldn't they sounded like little kids trying to be grown ups on that Kerrang! remastered thing, cringeworthy. Still i'm looking foreward to seeing them at download and opening for Maiden in December.
