Posted June 15, 200817 yr If people are suffering from terminal illnesses and in pain, should we have the right to end it in this Country, like they do in some other Countries like Switzerland.
June 15, 200817 yr yeh i think if people dont wanna suffer then yes let them go its not gonna be nice for them day after day suffering!
June 16, 200817 yr Yes, pro choice all the way. With proper rules and regulations Euthanasia can be very humane for those who suffer.
June 16, 200817 yr I've said this on here before but, I believe euthanasia should be legal. But it shouldn't be doctors who do the procedure. A doctor is trained to do anything and everything to keep someone alive, no matter how, no matter who.
June 16, 200817 yr Absolutely. What's needed is a card similar to a donor card which states you agree to terminate your own life if you are unable to operate in a conscious manner while conscious.
June 17, 200817 yr I am uncomfortable with the idea For someone in a great deal of pain and suffering I could understand the benefits of it but I could also see a situation where families have elderly relatives "put down" so that they can cash in via the will etc so any decisions should be taken by doctors based on medical evidence and then decided on and ratified by other independent doctors
June 18, 200817 yr Precisely my point, you have to have agreed beforehand. Donor cards are specifically so your demands are carried out after you die, so why not have another card which carries your wishes should you be living a half-life...your family cannot decide on your behalf. June 18, 200817 yr I agree, particularly with the last three or four posts. I do believe that euthanasia should be made legal, but it's very important that strict measures are in place before this happens
