Posted June 16, 200817 yr is called Death Magnetic http://www.mtv.com/shared/promoimages/bands/m/metallica/death_magnetic/metallica281.jpg Nice to know that it's on it's way.... ....not so nice to hear that it's name is utter $h!t. However from the sound of things the journalists that listened to 6 tracks from the up comming album say that it's a big improvement upon St Anger.... not that that was gonna be hard to do. Release is for around September time. thoughts?
June 16, 200817 yr Author of cause it won't.... they're no longer have that young spark that they ounce had..... that died with Cliff.
June 17, 200817 yr The name is complete balls, who the f*** came up with that? As long as it's not like the rubbish St Anger was and by the sound of things it is going to be another great album, Rick Rubin is producing it so that should help, im also hoping the drums dont sound like Lars is hitting steel rubbish bins, ive been watching their recent live video's and it seems they still have an excellent live show, which is good becuase im seeing them at Reading.
June 17, 200817 yr Considering that Metallica have barely done a decent album since "Master of Puppets" (and the last two have been utter sh!t...), can't say I'm really excited by this news.... "Death Magnetic" is truly a pretty ropey-sounding album title though.... Is there really a point to Metallica anymore...? They've been left totally behind by the likes of Machine Head, Tool, Lamb of God, Nile, Isis, Devil Driver and Mastodon anyway..... -_- Hell, even Slayer have been considerably more consistent, releasing pretty damn solid albums continuously, "Diabolus In Musica", "Christ Illusion" and "God Hates Us All" were considerably superior to anything Metallica ever did in the past 15 years or so.... Slayer are pretty much the one 80s Thrash Metal Act who can say they've kept up the good work....
June 17, 200817 yr Author i'd have to disagree with MOP being the last decent album they did.... ....And Jutice For All and Black alum have their high moments and are only really let down by one or two songs in my opinion, of course they aren't of the standard that MOP and RTL are but they're still good decent albums. I think this next album will be like Black album, won't be musically orgasmic like The Blackening but it won't be like being raped in the ear by a guy wearing a sandpaper condom, pretty much how i found 'Christ Illusion' after a while, i skip quite a few tracks from that album if they come up while media player is on random play.
June 17, 200817 yr yeah i'd say Black album would be their last good album, but MOP is the best imo, but from what ive read about the new one they have gone back to more of their thrash roots.
June 18, 200817 yr i'd have to disagree with MOP being the last decent album they did.... ....And Jutice For All and Black alum have their high moments and are only really let down by one or two songs in my opinion, of course they aren't of the standard that MOP and RTL are but they're still good decent albums. I found "..And Justice" to be monotonous and dull apart from the obvious tracks such as "One", "Blackened" and one or two others, I hated the production as well... And the "black" album certainly has its moments, but it doesn't add up to a cohesive whole....
June 18, 200817 yr Author They could of done with making Jason more obvious on Justice... even if he's nowhere near as great as Cliff was. If you mean Black album has it's moments do you mean the tracks from enter sandman to and including where ever i may roam are really good but then the rest seems to be filler tracks? That's how i find it, lol.
July 19, 200817 yr The cover: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3147/2676796509_34c07ca002.jpg i really dont like it.
July 19, 200817 yr no its going to be available to download through Guitar Hero: Metallica on the same day it's[the album] released.
July 19, 200817 yr no its going to be available to download through Guitar Hero: Metallica on the same day it's[the album] released. Ah that's the one. ;) Strange really though. Metallica release new album through Guitar Hero, where as Steven Tyler has also sold all of Aerosmith's song rights to GH makers, and then Axl will release his new song via Rock Band. I don't know if it'll catch on or be successful, but it's a good idea.
July 20, 200816 yr Downloads will die out now, everyone will soon just get all there music through means of guitar hero.
August 24, 200816 yr Author 4SXlMY3NjVk From their upcoming album. I saw this live before hearing the studio version and TBH live it sounded amazing, the studio version however i still got to make my mind up. Thoughts?
August 24, 200816 yr I like it, but where is the drive to it? :/ Even Guns N Roses' new song rocks harder than this..
August 24, 200816 yr I really like this. It's supposed to be the most downbeat track on the album anyway, which is when I prefer them TBH.
August 24, 200816 yr What a great song but its no where nearer to their older stuff which is much better :P
August 24, 200816 yr I'm not sure if I like it... most of their songs I've listened to are old, from "The Black Album" in 1991 and they were much better then But.. well.. the song is not too bad.. just normal ^_^
August 24, 200816 yr I think that I'm goint to put on my stereo "Ride the Lightning" instead ...........
