In brighton about a month ago i saw Broadway calls, Cobra starship and all time low. I thought they were all pretty $h!t and it was just a bunch onfscene kids in the crowd who sang along to $h!t like soulja boy before each band came on. :/

Lots, to many to be bothered to mention so here's a few..... mainly the big metal bands Iron Maiden (x3), Motorhead, Metallica, Machine Head (x2), Slayer (x2), Motley Crue, Marilyn Manson (x2), Trivium (x3..... all 3 times waiting for better bands), Korn (x2), Velvet Revolver, Megadeth, Wolfmother etc etc

Thousands

Probably those I've seen the most are Super Furry Animals, Urusei Yatsura and Carter USM. I also saw Placebo about 10 times in 3 years for some reason such was their ubquity at festivals.

I've kind of slacked because I've lived in small towns my whole life up til now but I have seen Mickey Avalon and The Peoples Party since I moved to the LA area. They weren't really that great but they are both really popular around here.

seen a few back in the 80's and 90's haven't been to one in ages

best by far has to be Depeche Mode  they were fantastic!

Jakobinarina

What were they like live?

I know they've split up now (which is strange because they were starting to get somewhere) but they were actually fair DECENT.

$h!t.

i only really saw them becuase they were supporting The Cribs but i did sort of like them any way, the only song i really enjoyed live was 'This Is An Advertisment'. It proberly would of helped if the crowd werent so boring, at one point two members of the band climbed into the audience and tried starting a mosh but ended up just looking a bit stupid.

BRMC, Supergrass, Lostprophets, Emanuel, Eighteen Visions, The Hives :)

Not seen enough live music. Foo Fighters, Turin Brakes, The Bluetones, I Am Kloot, Kings Have Long Arms...those are the ones that immediately spring to mind. Some good new bands at Glastonbury this year. Team Waterpolo are a bit different. The singer looks like a young Andrew Marr though. I don't like Andrew Marr or any other smug BBC trype for that matter...

Anyone else seen a new band at this year's Glasto that they'd recommend?

Let's see...

yeah thats bad - as Jakobinarina had some great singles - and its sad to think they are just another one of those bands that come and go on EMI records (like Morning Runner but much much better) that are just signed and nothing really happens with them apart from maybe a little advert in the corner of the nme at the start....

here some of the bands i've seen worth mentioning; in the order in which they pop into my head...

Black Kids are getting a lot of buzz but I'm not digging them too much. Supported by Team Waterpolo in Nottingham last night. Just read a review of Partie Traumatic in NME that was fairly glowing but the press hasn't been unanimous. Wonder when TW will have an album out. Only seen them on the free compilation. You can get it at www.catcutter.co.uk if you're interested. It's free, though isn't all music free these days?!

Ok well this will be an incomplete list (and it slowed waaay down more recently) but here goes:

UFO

The Alarm

The Cult

Pop Will Eat Itself

That Petrol Emotion

Metallica

Anthrax

Nirvana

Mudhoney

Soundgarden

Julian Cope

Oasis

Blur

My Bloody Valentine

Levellers

Primal Scream

Queen

INXS

Dinosaur Jr

Sisters of Mercy

The Mission

The Ramones

Muse

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Jane's Addiction

Mansun

Oasis

Suede

Spiritualized

David Sylvian

Aerosmith

Motley Crue

The Cramps

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Faith No More

The Pixies

The Prodigy

That'll do for now! There's plenty more especially if you take festivals into account.

is anyone here from Canada and going to Rogers Picnic.. its a festival not a dudes backyard bash. hahahhha
