Hope Claire is having a fantastic birthday, and you all have a good time, Nina.

I should be going shopping but it has been tipping it down with rain all day, so I keep delaying going out.

Thanks. She's having a lovely birthday. I'm stuffed. We went to an Indian restaurant and I ate too much. Claire is now packing as she's off to France tomorrow on holiday (lucky her).

Eating my chocolate sponge and chocolate sauce.....brought home from work...
Naughty but nice ?

There are far too many should be doings - they've taken up far too big a proportion of my life recently. The boys' houses are like little palaces and mine is like a tip having been neglected for too long. Tough! I'm going to spend some quality time on here instead.

I came on to my computer last night but my broadband kept knocking me off. It was like being on a very bad dial up service. I typed long posts which disappeared because the dshed thing wouldn't load up until I'd re-started. Finally it wouldn't let me on at all saying my username or password was invalid. Rather than spend a fortune on their technical help, I gave up, hoping it would be OK today.

Is your computer trying to tell you it doesn't like being left behind when you go away ? I'm sure computers have

a mind of their own......mine certainly does at times!

Off to watch 'My Family' on TV now.

My Family is one of the very few recent sitcoms which is on a par with the classic ones, I think.
My Family is one of the very few recent sitcoms which is on a par with the classic ones, I think. Mine is too Baytree. My son is having an extension built and and walls were going to be knocked down.yesterday they came to us for the kids to have tea and then a meal for them and then bath the kids. I had already had the children all day and was knackered consequently when I dished up his wifes dinner I dropped it on the floor, broke the plate everything and had to improvise something else, what a mess. To cap it all at the end the builders decided not to knock through but do it today or next week so it will happen all over again. It has been going on since the beginning of july.

How frustrating. Hope it finally gets done so they can return to normality.

I'm just going to phone some window firms.

We have a rotten front bedroom frame and on Sunday when the boys were clearing out the attic for Stuart to return home...they dropped a cupboard that narrowly missed the dogs head and fell against the landing window breaking it.

Our front porch is also rotten and pulling away from the house.....

Good job Darius isn't doing anything at the moment....

I just about had a fit when I got the bill I was expecting from my solicitor yesterday. It was 3X what I'd expected ( I thought I'd well overestimated, even at that).

Our solicitor charges £167 per hour

bits of the hour are divided into 6mins lots such as phone calls,

letters written are 6mins

letters recieved 3mins

I chose the wrong career!

Well, at least it has made the winding up of my estate much less complicated and made it surer that my son will receive his inheritance swiftly. Mind you, his inheritance has just taken a nose dive to do it. Talk about swings and roundabouts!

I suppose I should finish the job and some time soon I should check the contents of my home strongbox for clarity. I know what's there, why it's there and what to do with it all but I'm not sure my son would.

Good luck, Spamfritter, with the window estimates............polyfiller is wonderful stuff! works a treat on our frames!

And Preston,it will all be worth it in the end.........for your son's family. The labours of love that we Mums take on.

But I'm sure it is all highly appreciated.

So that's what the new passports are for, to go 'SKIing' !!
Hey, BT, why the flurry of activity? I hope this is just an attack of righteousness, and not a presager

of doom. Hope you're not going to emulate the boy in this video.......now fully recovered.

That's awful and could have been so much worse. I'll bet there are kids all over the UK who do that every day without a thought. I think I might have in my teens but not now although I admit I often cross against the lights.

It's just the usual thing when you consult a lawyer, everything gets so complicated and takes ages to resolve, especially as in this case.

There is one silver lining............... My Will cost me nothing to draw up. I'd never thought I needed one but after seeing how tiny mistakes by bankers and lawyers can cause so many problems, which only other bankers or lawyers can solve at a price, I'm going to do my utmost to make sure I tie up all the loose ends.
